Scar Barrels - Do They Work?

Yay more scar barrel testing seems clear it works. Elite darts are weird but full length darts always struggle with high velocities they simply arent designed for it I think that was an intentional design flaw by hasbro. The shorter darts seemed to really benefit from the scar barrel def increased the precision.

I took some time to rifle a brass barrel and put it in a wii nerf gun. You know that blaster that came with the wii game all those years ago? I put it in the first version, as well as an additional fire strike spring and removed air restrictor. The barrel is 4 inches long. I didn't do before/after tests. But my experience so far has been that the rifled barrel has taken off a good bit of fps but accuracy is seriously good. Consistent hits on dasani water bottles from 20 feet away, which is pretty good for a wii pistol.

Hey Brad. Love your videos. Like you i love Scar barrels and they without hessitation vastly improve the accuracy in my zeus with alpha kit. Many people still dont believe the scar can cause darts to "spin". To help prove it does, can you make a video of yourself pushing a full lenght dart into the end of a scar barrel. If you use a ACC protoype dart you will visually see that as you push the dart into the scar barrel, the dart clearly turns by itself as it enters. Keep uo your videos.

would a full-length scar barrel (fishing line throughout the entire barrel) be good or bad? I feel like it would decrease the fps a lot.

Only sealed breech blasters, not flywheels.

Inner diameter? Usually they're quite a bit wider than the dart itself, like 16mm.

Senior XJ, doesn't work on flywheels unfortunately. Slows them down too much.
