I got the proper hair cutting/thinning scissors several months ago, took an insane number of precautions, and gave myself a butterfly cut. I'm going to go for the wolf cut soon. My hair lost very little length, but a ton of weight! I felt 20 pounds lighter. Of course, it's super thick and down past my butt. If it's above my waist, I feel half naked, so no shoulder length hair for me. 😆 I love the waviness and curtain bangs, but think I'll like it a bit choppy for a more noticeable effect, as well as cutting it back up to my waistline. My neck definitely thanks Brad for his videos and advice. I didn't even know what thinning shears were before and never layered it because that always made it feel heavier for some reason.

My hair is wavy, but with the length and weight you can really only tell when it's wet or I've air dried it. It isn't anywhere near as thick as it was before my thyroid crashed, but it still takes upwards of an hour to get it sort of dry. It's also down past my butt, so there's that, too. 🤣 I gave myself the butterfly cut several months ago, after months of psyching myself up, and ended up doing it 3 times because I was taking no chances. 🤪I typically keep it to my waist. With it layered and thinned using the proper shears (and cutting it wet) I felt like 20 pounds was gone. It cuts about 10-15 minutes off the drying time. My arms and neck thank me. 😅

I mentioned once that I thought the longer hair looked nice and added a lot of texture. She said thank you and told me the reason it had been so short when we met. Since she was 15 she’s grown it out and donated it, usually letting it get as close to her waist as she could before each donation. She’d just turned 40 and was still doing it! My stylist ALWAYS trims my hair dry. BUT I have type 1a. I know she’d spritz 1st if I had any waves, so I think it has to do with hair type.

I have curly hair, and for me, a hair dresser getting it wet before cutting is a BIG no-no. I need to be cut curl by curl and so, cutting it dry is the best way.

The Princess Trust in the UK will accept hair that has been permant or semi pernament dyed hair. Some grey as they can remove those, any fashion colours are not accepted. Just google them if you are in the UK for all the guidelines. Hope that helps xxx

Honestly I love them all. Such a vibe. I remember getting my long hair cut back in the day, from the ribs to the chin, and it was so scary but so freeing. And now I'm growing a mullet, lol. At the end of the day, hair is just hair. It'll grow back. So fuck it, right?

I will grow out my hair periodically, to my mid back, and then I’ll cut it above my shoulders. Whenever my hair is long, I think it’s so pretty in pictures and everyone always comments on how pretty and long it is- but it becomes such a hassle and I just end up being so annoyed with it on a day to day basis! It just gets so heavy, and bodyless, and frizzy. Then I cut it! And I love it eeeevery time and I feel so free and cute and less bogged down by my hair. And the only regret I ever feel is sometimes feeling the societal pressure that long hair is prettier😅 but then I’m like… yeah but I’m happy so who cares!

My niece is two and scared of getting her hair cut but has a ridiculous amount of hair for a 2-yesr-old. So my sister and I tricked her and told her I was braiding her hair. Since she was so squirmy I used the pony tail method to get it done quick and man did it work well. I sectioned but only put an elastic in one part at a time. That way, for each new section, I was able to add a small bit of adjacent hair that was already cut as my guide. This was a game-changing way for cutting a toddlers hair. She now has a bob just above her shoulders, and it's the cutest.

You beast! She didn’t want short hair and you tricked her and gave it to her anyway? My mom did this to me once and I was sooo sad! I hated my hair until it grew back.
@KaitAC11 ай бұрын
@loveshell6945 no, she's scared of haircuts. Like many toddlers, she thinks it will hurt. It had nothing to do with wanting short hair or not. She didn't even notice a change.

😂 I had cut nearly 14” off my head 2 years ago. Had about 1” left…felt weird at first but I was able to grow it back quickly. It’s much healthier. Love these videos btw ❤

@bradmondo idk if you’ll ever see this but I recently followed your butterfly cut tutorial and it was so cute but then I caught the hair cutting bug and I wanted to go shorter. So I followed your “cut your own hair at home” tutorial and took my hair to shoulder length. Let me tell you, I felt so free and so light, I’m living my best extra life right now! And today at work, I have never received so many compliments for an at home hair cut before! Thank you so much!! My goal next year is to get a pixie cut *by a professional* and color it dark blue and green. But for now I’m love my hair!

I blame the dramatic effect that we see in movies where the woman cuts her hair dramatically different and does so in heavy chunks to show the “RIP to the old me” effect. It’s a canon event we cannot interfere.

My daughter thought she wanted to go real short. Her hair was down to the middle of her back. I talked her into only cutting about 3” inches between cuts/trims. She made it up to just below her shoulders and wanted to stop. She was glad I told her that. Our hair grows slow.

I cut my hair according to one of your videos a few days ago, and you'll be proud of me. I used actual hair cutting scissors. They were my great grandmother's. She was a hair dresser back in the day.

For some reason every time i watch any of your videos it happens to be 2am and i have a really important thing to do early in the morning. And EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I end up drastically cutring my hair with any scissors and no tutorial, i never follow your tutorials i just feel inspired by them and always ends up being awful but i slowly grow into it cause my hair is just fluffy and if you are wondering if this is ine of those times... well yes. (Actually not, i followed the tutorial this time and i think it looks good, im just addicted to cutting my own hair). Love you❤❤❤

I’ve worn my hair long with no bangs for about 30 years. I thought for some reason that I wouldn’t be beautiful any other way. Well, about 3 months ago I got my hair cut to above shoulder bob with bangs/fringe. I have never felt cuter and wonder why it took me so long. I also stopped dying my hair about 5 years ago, and I did that since I was 16. It’s a great change for me. Something very empowering to cut off most of your hair, as a woman. Just, don’t do it yourself 😂
@thekissinkate11 ай бұрын
I'm actually wondering about doing that too! I've had the same hairstyle for about 20 years now and I'm really starting to think about how I would look like with short hair >\\< I couldn't muster the courage yet~ though it will grow back eventually
