Shortly, I’ll be going home to heaven. I’ll be able to see my mom and dad, my dog and favorite horse. My favorite aunt and uncles are going to be the joy of going home. For those of you that have plenty of life ahead of you, enjoy every step you take, every breath you take, every hug you give!

It’s so comforting knowing you have so, so many loved ones waiting for you on the other side..I know you’ll be so happy to see them & be with them again..And I know they’ll be happy to embrace you once again. May you go peacefully and surrounded with love & light. I’m about to be 42 in December..So I’ve still got some living left to do on this earth. I will enjoy, cherish and never take for granted every step, every breathe I take & every hug I give or receive. Thank you for the words of wisdom. Sending lots of love your way.

The Greatest man in history had no servants, yet they called him Master. He had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. He had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today. 🙏🏼 His name is Jesus. Praise His name. ❤️

I’ve never known my real dad and my step dad was just a mean bastard. At 21 I got out of the Army with a bad drinking problem. I ended up at an AA meeting and met a man named Ben D. and for the next 28 years he was about the closest thing to a dad I’d ever known. He was absolutely one of the finest men I’ve ever known. In November he had a major back surgery and then caught COVID at the rehab facility. He passed away on the 8th at 85 years old. I miss him terribly, his viewing is tonight. I love you Ben and I’ll continue to make you proud of me. I celebrated 13 years of sobriety in December, it took me 15 years after our first meeting for me to get it but I did and I know he was always proud of me.

It’s late 2024 and I came here because my son was murdered last month. I’m so hurt and so lost. And when I see the other comments here I realize how blessed I am as well. I was blessed to have 24 years with my son and we’re all blessed his wife is due to give birth to their daughter in February. I’m blessed my son knew God and lived a good life. He had a woman he loved and who loved him. He was so excited to be a dad. My faith is strong, but I’ll never understand why God needed to call him home instead of me. But I now truly appreciate the gift God gave us when he sent his son to die for our sins. Thank you Brad and Dolly. This song was inspired and it’s truly helped so many people.

Will be 3 Years this year since I lost my Grandpa after his long battle with cancer. It was just after Christmas, I had gotten my Full Drivers License instead of a permit. I was going to drive all the way to the hospital in his truck to see him for his 60th birthday. Sadly he passed away the morning before. Here we are today and I still break down from time to time. Where I didn't get along with my dad for the majority of my childhood, he was there to fill the void. When he got sick, I was there for him through everything. That was the hardest part. Watching the person you love and admire most, slowly start dying. He taught me so much, he made me who I am today, and I wish he could've stuck around longer so I could've learned even more. The day I see him again, I'm going to hold him tight and never let him go. I miss you so much Papaw! Terry Lee Tucker Dec. 29th 1953 - Dec. 28th 2013

Today is my brothers funeral. He’s only 48 years old and he suffered deeply with alcohol and unfortunately he got liver failure from it. I’m playing this song today at him service because hearing the words “I’ve been set free” reminds me of something he would say and I get chills and start to cry. I know he loved Jesus and Alan is safe now.

However, I just lost my grandfather yesterday and this song hits home, it makes me miss him that much more! He was 75 though, so he lived a long full life. My daddy died 2/11/21. This was the first in the list of songs he wanted played at his service. Before any of the hymns! Brother paisley meant a ton to him. My daddy was an incredible musician, and loved the way Brad plays, and who in their right mind doesn’t love Dolly? I’ve had two black labs named Dolly, and Joleen. I cry every time I hear this song, but I know for fact when I get where I’m goin, I’ll see him, and my granddaddy, and I can’t wait. If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior I pray you do! I hope to see you all when I get where I’m goin! ❤

tara schley I'm truly sorry for your loss. I can only imagine that she was an amazing young lady and i can promise you that she is watching over you always!!! A few years ago I was told that I would be lucky to reach the age of 25 years old myself. I was TOTALLY and COMPLETELY devastated. I had a 3 1/2 year old little girl that depended on me for EVERYTHING & then all of the sudden I was told that I wouldn't be alive to see the child that I so desperately wanted even get her 1st lil boyfriend, go on her 1st date, go to her prom, graduate high school, get married and have babies of her very own!!! I was told that I wasn't going to be there to wipe away her tears when she got her heart broken for the 1st time. It was going to take a miracle for me to even get to be there on her 1st day of Kindergarten!!! Like I said I was COMPLETELY devastated, crushed I felt like someone had ripped my heart right out of my chest and then stomped all over it. I didn't get out of bed for days & then once I finally did, I walked around in a daze like I was a zombie or something!!! After several days, I got to the point that I just couldn't cry anymore. I accepted this as my new reality. I decided not to sit and dwell on all the negative things about my situation. Instead I chose to spend EVERY SINGLE MOMENT THAT I POSSIBLY COULD SHOWING MY DAUGHTER HOW MUCH I LOVED HER AND JUST HOW SPECIAL AND IMPORTANT SHE WAS TOO ME!!! Do to the fact that she was still at such a very young age, I made sure that I did things so that she would for sure ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have her Mommy there with her WHEN EVER SHE NEEDED ME!!! I made different videos for different stages in her life. Some videos were as simple as me reading bedtime stories to her & one for when she lost her 1st tooth. I made one for her 1st day of Kindergarten. I made a video for the night she went on her 1st real date and even made the more somber one for her 1st broken heart. Then the time came for me to make the harder videos and believe me when I say that it took me what felt like an eternity to make the more important ones like for her graduation day, her wedding day and the day of the birth of her 1st child. This song helped me get through all of that somehow and by the grace of God I'm still here almost 9 years later!!! My precious daughter is now almost 12 years old and an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING YOUNG LADY that continues to make me more and more proud EVERY moment of EVERY day. Her and I actually just had a discussion recently and I told her that when the time did come for me to leave this earth I wanted this played at my funeral and bless her sweet loving heart. with tear filled eyes while choking back tears she told me I PROMISE MOMMA!!! I HOPE THAT YOU CONTINUE TO KEEP THIS SONG CLOSE TO YOUR HEART!!! And I realize that you don't know me but if you ever need a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen, please feel Free to message me your number or tell me and I will send you mine!!! 💔💖💓CANDICE💔💖💓

My son passed away after years of struggles with health problems... His sisters, nieces and nephews and I have been devastated...though we know he has gone on to a far better place...My daughter put a small video together of photos we had accumulated during the 45 short years he was with us and used this song to accompany them in the background... Every word was perfect and so fitting for the many struggles he faced while here, the many obstacles and roadblocks he encountered ... dreams left unfulfilled... He had an amazing ability through everything ... to see only the good in others... He was kind, gentle, caring and never complained... He was a gentle giant whose ability to look outside himself touched the lives of many...He had little in this earthly existence and asked for nothing...He was never able to drive a car... never able to have a family of his own and yet he accepted his life as it was without loosing faith in a higher power... This song could not have been more perfect... I will cherish the words as though they were coming from him because I know this is exactly how he is feeling now... His granddad was a rock in his life.. taking him fishing, camping and always there when he needed someone... I found him after he left this life with his arm stretched up reaching...hand wide open, fingers stretched out...i am sure he was reaching for his grandfather's hand and I know without any doubt that he is walking with his granddad...just as I know that all of the things he was unable to do herein this life... he is having the opportunity to experience there... and I don't doubt that much happiness, rejoicing, laughter and love is being shared by those he is meeting again after their passing. I also have no doubt that he is standing in the light of his Maker in His amazing grace...and being welcomed with open arms... once again whole healthy and able now to fulfill the many dreams that were denied to him here because of a body and mind that did not function as he wanted them to... So I listen to this song, see his smiling dimpled face , which he always showed us daily, and say to him "Go with God my dear precious boy... you will always be loved and always be missed... but go... and do the many things you were unable to do here... fly free of this broken earthly shell...knowing you are loved... knowing you will be missed... and knowing that all the tears shed here are for our loss... the tears shed there are for Heaven's gain... I want to thank Brad and Dolly personally for this beautiful song that has become our emotional tribute to our sweet, precious "Bubba"... We love you sweet "man-child"....your memeory luves on and your example has taught us much... 'til we meet again "fly free."

Everytime I loose someone this song calls me in my heart... now here's the time in my life when I have no grandmothers left... time passes, and we usually just don't care about the things we are used to because we think that everything is permanent in this life... but life comes and hit us in the face when we don't expect it... this song delivers the message of family is the most important thing we have in life in the best way... thank you Brad Paisley

I have never heard these words before. I am at awe at the truth "and when I get where I get where I am going don't cry for me down here." Although it is natural to be somewhat hurt when someone whom us Christians love passes away; we should actually stop and rejoice that are loved ones are in paradise with our fathers and mothers of Christian past. If we let someone's death basically destroy our lives, it is lack of belief in the existence of God. Don't be a make believer. You either believe in God and trust in Him to the fullest or you do not.

What you said sounded dumb we have a life that God gave us to live down here God gave us emotion and when we loose our loved one were meant to feel pain

I played it for my nephew when we had his memorial 13th birthday party, he died of a brain tumor at Christmas of 2012. I also played it for the family while we were eating dinner at the hospital this year as my mother laid dying. She passed 12-22-13. We've had 2 bad years of christmas, but what a beatiful uplifting song for those left behind.

So Very Sorry For Your Lose. I Hope Things Gets Better For You. Bad Thing About Losing Someone You Love So Dearly For And Passes Away, All We Can Do Is Put On A Fake Smile For Them Till Time Passes By And Our Heats Starts To Heal.

Rhonda Boncutter So sorry about your husband, don't want to know that pain. I lost my dad 7 months ago (April 3), it hurts like something horrible. They say the pain will go away after awhile, I don't see how, but yes it helps knowing they are in a better place.

My Dad passed away 11 years ago and the morning after he passed I had just got out of the shower and out of no where my clock radio just blared out this song, it was not on and the alarm was not set, it was the first time I had ever heard it. I knew it was a sign from my Daddy letting me know he was fine because he died unexpectedly in his sleep, we had just lost my younger sister the year before and were still grieving her death but upon hearing this song I felt a calm peace come over me because I knew then that Daddy and my sister were together, still to this day when I hear this song I feel that calm peace and comfort.

I lost my mom when I was 16, after doing CPR trying to revive her with 911 on speaker phone. I miss her every single day and for the longest I felt like it was my fault (she had a heart attack in her sleep). I'm 25 now and each day I still miss her more and more.

+Nancy Long Sorry Nancy. This may sound odd that I am reading our post, but I lost my mother-n-law (one of my best friends) on the exact same day. I guess we had one rough day, but obviously I can't compare mine to yours. I spent my day helping my wife cope after losing her mother suddenly (passed away peacefully in her sleep - no health problems and it was sudden) You hang in there Nancy. God will hold you up and rain down blessings your way. He will ease your heart. Revelation 21:4 - that may help
