I hope this movie works not because it's a big budget movie but because they tried something different and even if the movie is bad then I hope people appreciate it for their efforts because if they'll not be appreciated for trying something new then they'll never experiment in the future and the audience will say "Bollywood never tries something new." For those who don't know what is brahmastra - Brahmastra was a weapon like nuclear weapon at Mahabharata and ramayana times , which can fully destroy all humans , animals and plants of a particular area . Only ashvthama used this weapon at the end of Mahabharata , but shree krishna stopped it . It was morally restricted to use this weapon in any war .

There are five elements in Vedas they mention 3 here Agni (fire), Vaayu (Wind/Air), Jal (water) . Astra means weapon. Brahma-astra means the god of weapons. Brahmaastra is mentioned in ancient Indian literary works like Mahabharata. It is rarely used (actually once in the whole book but that's a whole other dimension). It basically is representation of a weapon of mass destruction.

The tailed ape-like being was probably Lord Hanuman, Shiva's avatar and protector of the good. 3. *Brahmastra* according to Hindu mythology is one of the most powerful weapons in the universe. No life can grow in the region where it has been denonated for 12 Brahma Years(1 Brahma Year= Billions of Earth years). Anything that grows after would be deformed or melted. Now tell me how is it not analogous to Atomic bombs? 4. *Brhmashirastra* is the most powerful weapon, capable to end existence of even Gods. It causes a series ot chain reactions which can annihilate whole Universe. Sage Agnivesa, Dada Parshuram and Karna- these 3 characters had the knowledge to invoke this weapon, which could be done with just a blade of grass. Not even a blade of grass can grow for 50 Brahma Years in the area where it strikes. 5. And who is Shiva? He is everything that you see around. He has neither has begining, nor any end. He is as old as eternity and wise to the infinity. He is the first Yogi, the Adiyogi. He is beyond "Brahmand"(Universe). He was neither born, nor would he die. @@denver5093 Ah yes, the party pooper is here. Dude, Marvel has been at the top of it's game for more than a decade now and obviously they're gonna be the best in the business. But this is probably one of the very first hindi language films to have done something on such a big scale. So yeah I liked this trailer better than Thor's. Also, ye "masterpiece" word aise itna casually use krna band kr mere bhai, word ki value gira rkhi hai tum logo ne. Aur life mein cheezon ko appreciate krna seekh thoda. Peace.

Happy that Bollywood upped the ante.. It had to do such movies from its regular rom-com genre.. Otherwise it will be crushed under Telugu movie onslaught.. Brahmastra will now set an example to South movies that we can go even bigger considering that India on the whole can be one big market if the movie is of good quality. I really want Brahmastra to do well at box office and be a massive pathbreaker in the Indian cinema.

Well, Prime Focus, one of the co-producers of this movie, is the common thread in Marvel, Harry Potter, Dune, Avatar... basically everything in VFX. DNEG, a subsidiary of Prime Focus has won I think 8 Oscars in the category...so no surprises there...

I think it looks great too. I just wished it wasn't centered around a love story. But happy they are influenced with sanatam dharma and philosophy to make it original. Finally hindii cinema is listening and being experimental. I didn't think hindi cinema was doing a bad job and didn't deserve to be canceled however they did need to pull up their socks and go to the drawing board.
