This is coming from someone who barely watches Bollywood movies but watches yogi baba religiously. Alia Bhatt’s role would’ve been so much more better if she were someone who was researching the astras. That way her following Ranbir would’ve made so much more sense. And they could’ve fallen in love gradually. She could’ve also been used as the exposition part in the movie.

I really feel Bhrambhastra is heavily inspired by Harry Potter... 1.Harry being an orphan 2.Harry escaped the killing curse-Shiva escaped fire 3. the Locket, 4. the memory/light of love( HP was more impactful bc of the son-mother relationship instead of a two day girlfriend! in Bhramhastra) 5. Harry's memory for the Patronus charm aka Shiva's button😂 6. Harry/ Shiva the chosen one 7. the backstory that Shiva's parents were the members of this society...The order of the Pheonix These are just a few examples, now I feel it's just a retelling of HP. Of course, anybody not familiar with HP will appreciate it but I can't. There are many more parallels between the two.

I think they wanted Shiva to be the guy who fears loosing his loved ones (like his mother in fire) and so he doesn't want to get into all Brahmastra mess or experiment with his powers. Saying this because his power is technically supposed to be "power of love" that got activated again when he met Isha and fell in love with her. He seemed to be trying to live like a normal dude before meeting her. On the other hand, Isha seems to be someone who hates secrets and likes adventure and going out (maybe a backstory should've explained why she kept sticking to Shiva or maybe about her family, education, passion or what she does for a living). I believe writer wanted to make her the kind of love interest that pushes Shiva out of his fear and change his life like a true life partner does. Idk how actual plot went south. There were ideas, good ones but they focused too much on Astraworld worldbuilding, Graphics and external plot that they forgot why the story matters i.e. characters. So unfortunate it will be now remembered more like "Shiva, ShIvA, SHIVAAAA" and "uske sath chaati par chad kar jayegi kya?" 😂

That dialogue is still so shit tho. Thora acha metaphors use kr lete ye button kya hota hai?? Bollywood never fails to disappoint with their dumb dialogue writing inko paise nhi milte kya? Same thing in adipurush or whatever it's called. Bollywood needs to forget abt VFX and focus more on their writing
