Ive been skating for about 2 years now. Im comfortable hitting stair sets, skating ledges, rails, gaps, and down rails as well. My flat ground tricks aren’t super impressive, but i have all the basics on lock, but i’ve haven’t tried to drop in since my very first attempt. The first time i tried to drop in, I dislocated my shoulder (wild, i know) so i put off learning it, but recently ive been meaning to learn how to do it. I never had any confidence to even try until my friend kept trying and did it (at the time he only got the board the day before) so that made me wanna do it, my friends held my hands at first then eventually gained more confidence to try to do it on my own and my only problem was that I kept jumping off instead of committing properly, eventually I could kind of do it but not really. My friend suggested to put my foot on the bolts and just go for it and I did. I didn't fall, I didn't bail, I had actually done it. This was today :) 03/10/22

Hey Aaron I'm so glad you're still the face of Braille skateboarding, I came across your channel about 7 or 8 years ago when I was in my late high school years but I was too self conscious and nervous to do skateboarding myself in broad daylight, at the skatepark, due to all sorts of reasons. But there was a period I was absolutely obessed and would binge watch alotta skateboarding compilations and ofc Brailles how to videos lol. Im 25 now and I've outgrown that shell now and I think I'm gonna try work on this hobby actively! I realised if you just keep dreaming you want to do something, time just passes, you need to actually do it to live it!

I learned to drop in on a 7ft. mini spine ramp, trying to drop in 50-50 as I thought it was easier. When I did it regular and conquered my fear I did it, and everyone was cheering for me. that was about 30 yrs. ago. I never did learn any ramp tricks. The longer you hesitate the more fear you will have. I used to just put my board in position and just go.

I learned by falling 5 or 6 times as I went down. Somehow didn't break any bones but I'm still afraid to do any coping tricks yet because I don't have any mellow mini ramps by me. Nothing but bmx parks with 6 ft half pipes or single quarterpipes that lead to asphalt if I fall backwards and get scraped up.

Same. Gabe's fear of the vert ramp is exactly my fear, of just the mini-ramp! My first experience with a 4ft-5ft qtr pipe was immediately met with seven staples in the back of my head (because no helmet or pads)! Since then (summer 1995) I've just accepted that some people are designed and meant to do certain things and others can do the others! Ledges, rails, stairs, hips, launch ramps, curbs, and very small transitions with even smaller verts (if at all) are just fine and perfect for me personally, lol 👀😆😂

I started back recently, I transitioned at 12 to motorcoss and used to I had learned how to skate vert ramps and so much more by the age of 12. This weekend on my first day back I skated off the half pipe with a rolling start and I'm now very comfortable on day two transitioning from flat to ramp but two times I've tried to just drop in I've basically shoulder planted the concrete and I'm not sure what's going on but it feels like at the bottom I'm coming to an abrupt stop. So I'm wondering are my trucks maybe so loose that I'm contacting the board and loosing my momentum at the apex or just leaning two far forward? I'm 27 now so id like to fall down as little as possible as it hurts a lot worse than when I was a kid
