I was having a conversation with a girl who sat next to me in class earlier, when she suddenly told me that I was "too pure". I got kind of annoyed, because my friends are always telling me how "innocent" I am when it comes drinking, drugs, romantic relationships, etc. (almost like they're patronizing me). I tell her this, to which she said; "No, it's a good thing. You seem like the kind of guy who isn't into doing crazy stuff like that and respects other girls' boundaries." I never thought of it like that. She really changed my way of thinking today. It was a real confidence booster.

Before I got to the part where she spoke up, i was preparing to reply with the same insight. I'm older than most people on these videos and in these comment sections (i work from home and like having these on in the background) so I'm kind of a "mom"....being "pure" is good. You respect yourself, you use good judgment, and you don't allow any kind of "must fit in" silliness to get into your head. I found that once i left middle school, high school was a bit more open....but....after you graduate high school- college is like a whole new world. The more of these things you experience while being unapologetically yourself, the better off you are. HOWEVER, bear this in mind: being kind, and thoughtful, and "pure" are 100000000% wonderful traits. BUT: NEVER ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE "TOO NICE". that means don't allow anyone to take advantage of you or use you. Bad people tend to think that kindness is weakness, and it's up to you to assert that it isnt. Now that you've read this "mom novel", go be fkn awesome. 🖤💖

Went to the movies with a guy, and he knew I'd been through something really tough recently with my family. We had about ten minutes or so to wait before the movie, and we just kinda sat down and talked for awhile. He kept asking me how I was doing, to make sure I was okay. Even during the movie when I stopped holding his hand and looked distracted, he said "Hey, are you okay? Are you sure? Cause we can talk if you need to" and I assured him I was okay. He has no idea how much that meant to me TLDR: He actually cared about how I was feeling. Edit: Also he was just a gentleman, opened doors for me, wouldn't let me pay for anything at all, and always thanked my mom for giving us a ride.

She grabbed my hands and we cuddled, talked about random funny things, listened and sung along to music, even felt comfortable and went into more deep and personal things. This was all a week after our first date and things seemed to be going real good, real fast. But unlike the other stories here, it turned out she didn’t actually have much feeling for me. She seemed to slowly slip out of my hands and I just had to accept the fact that she didn’t want me in the end. I still don’t know what changed her mind, but it seemed all so perfect for me. But I guess I was wrong. Idk why I’m even telling everyone this. Just felt like I needed to vent. So I might as well vent into the void that is the internet.

The guy I'm dating now and I met a few years back. We were introduced online by a mutual friend and played overwatch constantly. At the time I identified strictly as a lesbian but eventually told him that I was interested in guys too but a lot less comfortable with them because of past experiences I had and I typically wasn't physically attracted to men right away like I was with women. We played games almost every night and stayed up late laughing. We started playing d&d on the weekends. This went on until a few months back when I admitted I thought he was attractive because he said something about how he was self concious about his appearance, and despite our mutual friend having told me that he admitted to having a massive crush on me, he never once made an inappropriate comment or made a move. Eventually I told him it was mutual and we started to date. He is patient and funny and endlessly kind and because our relationship started as a friendship that was entirely trust-based, neither of us are afraid to have adult conversations about potential issues with our relationship or ask questions when we need reassurances about something. Additionally, I remember one night before we started dating that I was having an emotional crisis and called him in tears but was too nervous to talk about what was bothering me so he just spent a few hours making me laugh and never pushing the subject. I expressed concern about the long distance relationship and he told me that whether we lasted as partners or not, he knew we'd always be best friends and that he was lucky to have me his life regardless, even if a breakup would make him sad. I felt the same way, and that's the moment I knew I was in love with him. Green flags all around. We live in different states but have met up a few times and plan to move to Colorado a few years from now to find a place together. We meet up once every few months to spend a week together.

One time in high school, I went to my crush's house and we were hanging out at her house. I was only suppose to be there for an hour, but ended up staying all afternoon and evening until around 9pm. Her mom made us dinner and asked her to clean the table. I offered to help her and her mom set up the table. I even helped cook the final dishes. We talked and laughed until I realized it was 9. I was worried about how to get home (my house is 10 miles away), but her dad offered to take me home. But before I left, I picked up the dishes and offered to clean all of them. Before I left, we hugged, and before I closed the door, I overheard her mom saying "Don't you dare let him go. He is husband material." She smiles and I got a glimpse of her blushing as I left. Her dad dropped me off and offered to explain why I was late to my parents. But seeing as they would get mad, I told him they knew I might be late. What I did tell them was that I was shooting pictures in LA and lost track of time. They bought it. I miss those days. Things were so much simpler.

We extended our 2nd date. The 1st was a blind date that I didn't know I was on (long story). We went to her place so she could let the dog out. She told me "The dog will jump all over you and act like an idiot. The cat... Nevermind the cat. You won't see her, because she hates everyone but me". The dog ran up to me, sat at my feet, put her head on my thigh, and held perfectly still... I hadn't said a thing to her or even moved when she came over. The dog wouldn't move, even when my date called for her. Only went outside when I said "Go on". Sitting on the couch and waiting for the dog to do her "business"... The cat came out, stared at me for about 45 seconds, then jumped up in my lap and let me rub it's belly. Didn't want to get down when we were ready to leave. Oddly enough, these green flags almost backfired... When we left, she asked me if I was Satan and was using my powers to control the beasts of the land. I told her "If I was, don't you think I'd drive a better vehicle than the one I have". She said "Good point, but I had to ask". Then she laughed... We've been married almost 14 years now. Note: I'm was kind of a farm kid growing up and actually read animals better than people. Somehow, I think most animals pick up on that.

Just gonna leave this here, me and my boyfriend have been long distance for about a year, when I finally met him and we had our first date neither of us had a car that was available to us so we ubered there and had some bratwurst, we could have left any time after that but spent a couple hours going around local shops, talking, and looking at books, up until the point where our phones were dying and it would have been impossible to uber back home, I’m still with him and he’s the sweetest and nicest guy I’ve ever met

Dunno about that one, but Jack London describes that it was a common courtesy everywhere for the man to walk on the outer part of the sidewalk, so that he can push the woman away if a car swerves in their direction or something.

The green flag for me was actually when my house burned down. He'd been invited over to my parent's house for dinner and my little sister set the house on fire with a candle on accident. Everyone got out safe but our house was ruined and we had no house insurance. He was offered a ride home several times but he said he wanted to stay with me until I left to stay at my grandma's house. We've been together for 13 years now.

I've always been stubborn about going to the movies as a dating spot, because when I go to the movies, I go to see a movie of my choosing and don't want to spend 20 minutes arguing over which movie we should see together. I'm going to see my movie and they can either come along or go see whatever they want to see. That's why I usually try to avoid movie theaters as a dating location and try to go for shared activities like bowling, paintball or just dinner and a conversation. But this one time, it was really pouring out and she insisted on going to the movies because she really wanted to see Troy (yes, this was quite a while ago). I had already seen it and didn't want to see it again, which I told her. I wanted to see Hellboy instead. She wouldn't budge on her movie and I wouldn't budge on mine, so we each went to see our movie separately and met up afterwards. I was expecting trouble and a lousy finish to our date, but we actually spent another 2 hours or so talking and had a great time. No happy ending, though. We didn't end up staying together or getting married or anything of the sort. We continued dating for a while but broke up amicably a few months later. We're still friends now.

Green flag with my current girlfriend: we had been together for about a week, she came to my place, we start to talk and joke about how great is Adventure Time but the topic is interrupted by some sweet chikichiki, while we are at it I’m still thinking of all the things that I still have to tell her about Adventure Time and she stops and asks: “Am I the only one still thinking about Adventure Time?” It was too funny I fell a little bit in love in that moment

But you know its a cultural difference. In my country even friends dont split the bill but we take turns. (We argue like "i got this" "nope im paying") Only distant acquatances like co-workers split the bill. So if a girl wants to split the bill it usually means "i dont wanna see you again. Im gonna make sure you know you are not even in a friend zone but a stranger zone". So for me its a little bizarre to see a couple pay seperate(im not being judgemental, im just saying im not used to it) it makes me think 'do they split for condoms too? If its $9, does each person pay $4.5 or someone says "just give me 4, ill pay 5. Youre welcome"? Do they make sure each gets equal amout of orgasm? Do they meet halfway? If one cooks, the other should pay for ingredient?' Etc.. (Again, no judgement here, ive always been just curious)

I always pay for my stuff. One, because its polite to do so. Two, because I don't like people thinking I'm just for the money. Three, I had a bad experience with a guy. He literally slammed his wallet on the counter of the pizza place and said and I quote: "If I pay for everything then you have to give me a kiss, c'mon baby". This was a first date. What he said and the way he threw his wallet (it made a loud noise) was unacceptable. I said goodbye right there and said no to another date. That shit was scary. I feel like I dodged a bullet.

@@shamartTM Nah, she's just trying to pretend to be modest. A non-THOT wouldn't go for physical intimacy with a guy after any date until she felt comfortable enough to be with him, and for a non-THOT, "comfortable" means "he probably won't immediately leave me and ghost me after having sex". Some girls pretend to not be THOTS and think that modesty means "I only sleep on the second or third date to let him know what a serious, fun-loving, celibate maiden I am". The easier it is to bed a girl, the more you should avoid that girl and her diseaseys and her future bastard children. Nothing good ever comes easy.
