Lmao save $70-$90 my dealership charges $150 for this plus the pads if you don't bring any. Glad you made this video, I didn't know it was this easy! Also blacklist the bot's entire sentence below me, bots have become extremely rampant on KZbin and KZbin won't do anything about it.

I try to report all SPAMs.. youtube is trying to bring new logic, but it takes time... as for the front, 150??? Seriously??? I am moving to your country and will do the change of front pads only 😆😆😆 rear are more tricky because of the belt but one day i will learn that too... for the moment i try to avoid it as much as possible 😆😆😆😆

The pad you’re replacing has a greater surface area, they would work better.

Nice video Martin, thanks for posting. My Spyder has only a little over 2200 miles on her. I’ll probably need to do this next year. The back will probably be done at the Dealer. 😉 Let us know whatever you find out about doing the back.😉 I might be inclined to do it myself if it’s not to complex. I don’t have all the tools yet. 🥴

It think i may do it sooner or later by myself... but i am not comfy with it at the moment, so i need some time 🤪

At 2200 miles the pads are just about broken in. I replaced the pads on my 2020 RTL at 12000 miles then around 22000 miles. As I was getting the back tire replaced I had the back pads replaced at the same time as the front. I am assuming that they were replaced with Brembo pads as I had this done at the dealers. The breaks were hard worked at times having had a trip round the Alps including 5 Swiss passes in one day.

Hi Martin. If I remove the brake caliper to change the disc. What torque should I give the screws when I replace them? And with or without Loctitte?
@kellymusarra8743
@kellymusarra8743 Жыл бұрын
Is there a torque setting to tighten things back up or just until snug? Got one side done, preparing to work on the other. Thanks for making it look soooo easy! After the front(s), moving on to the back.

Snug is exactly how it is 😉😉😉 let me know how it was with the back 😉😉😉

@@MartinTheVlogger Found the torque after I sent the message. Already forgot what it was, but I think it was something like 6 nm, so basically ‘snug’. I’ll have a bit of a delay to do the back. I purchased a set of PPA wheels that took 7 months to arrive. Been sitting in the garage for 2+ months, hoping for the front tires to wear out. No go, after 17k the tires are still in excellent shape. (Replace the back already) Hubby decided to have them mounted for me for xmas. He tried 10 places to mount, no one will touch them. Today, he finally found a shop that mounted, but couldn’t balance. I’ll be taking the bike in to the dealership for balancing tomorrow, then I’ll tackle the back brakes. We have a 5,000+ mile trip planned for this summer. I’m a bit concerned now if I have any tire issues while traveling.
@MartinTheVlogger
@MartinTheVlogger Жыл бұрын
@@kellymusarra8743 i dont get it, why nobody would touch PPA wheels. Balancing is done in any tire shop and it needs very little balancing if you have new kenda kr20 tires. Fronts can go easy 25.000km 30.000km but rear last like 10-15.000km on F3. Always have tire repairing kit together with O2 "bombs" that can refil the tire with you. Enjoy the trip 🤟🤟👌👌👌
@kellymusarra8743
@kellymusarra8743 Жыл бұрын
@@MartinTheVlogger The issue wasn’t specific to PPA, it was motorcycle tires. The tire shops didn’t have the 2” adaptor (too small for their machines) as most have upgraded and old inserts no longer fit and motorcycle shops said it was a car tire, even tho it clearly says ‘motorcycle’ tire on them. (That also laughed, saying you should buy a real motorcycle). Frustrating to say the least!! Enjoy your day!

Do EBC brake pads and rotors still squeak like the Stock ones do?

Try adding some copperslip grease on the back of the pads where the pistons are bearing. This can stop squealing from brakes.
