I have done many brake jobs on cars. I usually lube the ears, but after watching a few other channels, I noticed they install them dry. Also, I’ve never seen lube used on cars from the factory.
So, what do you do: lube or not lube??
To lube or not to lube can depend on various factors, including your driving environment and personal preference. If you choose to lube, ensure you use a high-temperature brake grease specifically designed for this purpose and apply it sparingly to avoid attracting dirt. Also, follow any specific recommendations provided by the brake pad manufacturer.
For a balanced approach, consider trying both methods on different brake jobs to see which you prefer and which offers better performance and longevity for your specific needs.
