Hi bro great video. Yeah I have emailed HRP several times on price of old 4.6 and Gt version. They just say it is what it is. Im enjoy the new Savage xl 5.9. Except of cousre HPI steering servos still very weak. I up graded with a 35kg akl metal $25 servo from Amazon. Loads of power. I will saw on the Savage 5.9 the new wheels are a pain to tighten. It comes with a wrench but you can only turn in small amounts. And a 17mm socket is to big to get in there. But over all its a beast.

Anyways, I can confirm the stock steering servo is garbage, in my testing of the new XL, it was the first to break, no denying that. But you know, lets fair and not judge the entire truck based on a shitty servo, most people replace the stock ones anyway, as you know. Yes, also the wheel nut wrench is a pain in the ass, agree. Anyway, see you on the ext one bro! NitroGang!.

I paid only $80 dollar's for my used all original hpi savage.25 I sold the motor and ribbed pipe I also updated my savage .25 with new model parts from jenny rc I replace the motor with lrp 28

I bought a running, used savage 25, with proline body, for $115, engine was leaking fuel badly, bought a new force 32 and all new ancillaries for $200, so for $350 I'm going to have a sick 2 speed baby

Great video bro!!! Always wanted a savage really bad, and one day when money allows, I will but both a savage and a baja. Also wondering if you have had any experience with trackstar nitro engines? I am about to get one for my buggy, as my LHS recommends it as a good value powerful and reliable engine. At the price of 130 dollars or so, it looks like a nice beater engine that I don't have to be worried about running really hard.

Hey dude from my prior experiences the TrackStar motors are pretty normal, sure they are cheaper ensure they are not the level of performance he would get from a more expensive engine, but they perform just as well as any RTR and from what I’ve heard they come in relatively good carburetors.

No matter if you run outerwear where I live the dust will kill any nitro all mine got murdered 💯 doing doughnuts in the dust will do it every time and if you wet it down it turns to runny concrete muck and the tires clogg up really fast so yeah I can kill a nitro 😆

Hey bro I’m truly sorry to hear that you almost or nearly killed your nitro I sure hope it’s fixable. I’m curious did you have the inner layer foam element very well oiled, normally the oil the air filter itself will attract and store a lot of the dust and usually the dust will not make it through the oil itself as a clings to it.

Sickening hybrid, I’ve just brought out video on my KZbin channel asking anyone if they know how to adjust the 2 speed because there are 2 screws in the gearbox and was wondering which one is the adjustable one because I’ve looked everywhere on which one is the adjustable one but no luck unfortunately:( Nitrogang

hey dude, you came to the right place, I've done the 2-speed adjustment many times. I will include the HPI manual link for you (look on page 36) for the instruction. Basically once you locate the 2 speed clutch hub through the trans you need a 2MM driver to turn 1 of the 2 screws u will see. You're adjusting the one that is on a diagonal (kind of recessed at an angle). Take a look at the manual on page 36. Best to turn all the way in, then out about 4 turns, then test it out. IF it does not shift you turn out (counterclockwise about 1/4 turn at a time.
