I think the biggest problem is that Brand New doesn't make music for stages like this. There are bands, like Bring Me The Horizon and Architects, that make music for big stages like this. But at the same time, there are bands, like Brand New, that make music for more intimate or smaller clubs. If this was played in, say, a 500-800 cap venue, it would probably sound way better.

i hate how many band speed up their songs live just to be able to fit more songs into their set time...i’d rather see them do a lesser number of songs that actually sounded good than see them do more songs in a set and have to speed up the tempo in every song

I've actually never heard of a band doing this. A lot of bands use in-ear monitors with click tracks for each song because everybody has a natural tendency to rush tempo live, the adrenaline makes studio tempos feel like dragging. I'm gonna have to look into the whole idea of speeding up songs to fit more songs in a set, that's kinda interesting. It would make sense, this is BLISTERINGLY fast

Yeah part of it is how their gain doesnt work well with it but this song has always sounded bad live. They play it too fast and the vocals in the recording overlap so it's impossible for one person to do them right.
