I was thinking about it, but painting something that gets to much activity, like where the sup holders are. I don’t think it would hold up. But I will probably paint some other trim pieces to cut down in the cost.

I'm at the same stage as you are. I just installed my black dash that I got from a local junkyard. About an hour alway from me they recently got two 2010 toyota corolla S. I went to go look at them and one of them had the complete black interior in mint condition.

Love your videos! I have also been doing some mods to my 2009 Corolla S, and I found Rustoleum flat black is a close, though not perfect paint to match the OEM black trim. Just did my upper pillars and some other trim in black as a part of a starlight headliner project, even my S model with mostly blacked out interior was grey from the window sills up. Had sought out this video again to see how you had routed cables through the center console to do similar for my wiring solution, then thought I'd mention the paint

@@BrandonStellmach Most of the spots I've painted were low-wear areas, though I have noticed the seatbelt rubbing back and forth on the belt height adjustment panel has resulted in some wear along the edge where it contacts, though I don't think most paints would hold up to that kind of repetitive wear over time

@@FlyBoyZJ1yeah I figured in high movement areas it might start to fade or rub off. But I guess the seat belt area never came black, so you can’t even replace it with a OEM part from a black car so it would need to be painted.

I think you can paint or wrap the panels at the end of the center console save money and you can even personalize it with your own touch love your videos

Well the cemetery console is something that sees a bunch of activity, and I would not want the paint to start to scratch off or wear off over time. Plus it wouldn’t be the easiest to paint inside the cup holders in the back. But I plan to try and paint some of the other pieces that don’t get touch by your feet and hands. Also trying to wrap things with the textured plastic might not stick very good.

My 2003 corolla had the same issue. I just purchased a brand new hinge part from Toyota. It's now perfect again and only cost $20.

I would stay with 18in and under. Otherwise the ride quality becomes really bad. They are niche m117 Misano 18x8.5 with Nankang 225 40 18.

Since you have a 2013 corolla, means you have a 10.5 gen corolla. Which the years for that will be between 2011-2013. So anything for those years should fit perfect!

I know I’m kinda late on this one but you can “fix” that little tab that broke off the cig lighter by just putting the plastic where it’s supposed to be and giving it a couple wraps of electrical tape

I have seen people on other cars, they actually glue another piece of material over the old one. And tuck into the plastic. But I’m not exactly sure what glue and fabric they use. But glad to see you are liking the videos! 👍

You could paint it as well. But with this being a main piece of the car, I would worry that the paint would wear off inside the cup holders. As well as where your arm might rest up in the side. But other panels that don’t see much attention, a vinyl paint will probably work great!

Now you got me thinking about changing the interior. I didn't know you could find it for this car. I was just thinking to wrap the interior. Edit: But I might keep mine the way it is because the carpet is tan. The color don't bother me since I'm a welder and the dirt I bring in don't show alot. And if I use my rgb lights they reflect of the carpet better.

The black interior just makes everything seem much nicer, then the grey interior. I might paint some of the other panels that don’t see much attention. Because I would hate for me to paint something and it starts to scratch up. That’s interesting that you have tan carpet, never knew these corollas came with carpet other then black.

@@kidlo2050 I have seen people use a fabric paint in the head liner. You will have to take it out. And use a special paint. But it honestly looks good after it’s done. I have thought about doing that as well!

Conundrum I’m in: I found really cool headlights… …For the 2011-13 refresh. Tempted to try to find a magnetic gray S from that gen at a pick-a-part lot so I’ll need the headlights and a replacement grill that doesn’t look like it’s trying to be a Camry.

Yeah I love the headlights for the 2011-2013 corolla. I’m not sure why they didn’t make them for the 2009-2010. I actually wanted to do a conversation to the 10.5 front end. But not sure yet! But if you can find all the parts already painted to match your car. That would be a great easy upgrade!

I had thoughts about painting mine as well, but the problem with painting a piece like this, is the cup holder spots in the front and the back. Because they are spots that are touched a lot and I feel that the paint will wear out after time. I would definitely say painting some of the other pieces will work that don’t get touched very time you drive the car.
