I heard Branford speak at the World Saxophone Congress in Scotland this year, the guy's attitude just blew me away. So real, no bullshit. It was refreshing to hear and I enjoyed every word he had to say.

Incredible! Keeps getting better and better. We heard Branford and Justin play Teo in Bowling Green Ohio last year--really looking forward to this version with the whole band. Joey's song sounds amazing. Love what we've heard in this preview and can't wait for August 7!

I remember a video where Branford played Cherokee... and there are girls in the room looking at their phones; apparently here (@12:45) is the same thing! What kind of honey does he put into his instrument to gather these special creatures around all the time? :))) Thank you for the music guys; this is simply ingenious, I hear and feel and understand e-very sing-le no-te, eve-ry rhythmical idea, there are absolutely 0 "misses", it's just unbelievable how good you are.

It is a big pair of shoes to fill for a man of 20 (Tain Watts), but Justin has a great feel and sense of swing- hearing a little Philly Joe in there, and that is never a bad thing.

Fantastic! I have a question. On As Summer Into Autumn Slips, is there an effect on the soprano? It sounds double tracked, or maybe a delay. Just curious.

as a kid he is what i loved about some jazz artist who weren't scared to say shit, like Archie Shepp,, Miles...that's Branford and his Brother, fearless. bad mfs, from lip to the tips of their fingers, For the fool who downgraded Trane, whose shoulders do you think he(MB) was standing on...BS, must be a young boy.

I believe most of Branford's gruf exterior comes from others "attempting to" invalidate his passion for "remembering where he came from" :-) He wants people to know that he feels indebted to jazz musicians (and Black folks, in general) who paved the way for him to do what he's been able to do. Nothing wrong with demonstrating pride in your own culture and heritage, inside a melting pot of them. Calling that racist is kind of like saying American Indians are "un-American" :-)
