Great video, BB! Made me laugh a few times. Yes, AMAZON is the way to go IF you have time to wait. I have an old Century HST110 pump which is showing a water leak at the bottom (where I can't see it) and it's probably slowly allowing air into my circulation loop too, so I suspect the seals are toast. Your video will be a big help in removing the old seals then cleaning, lubing and installing the new seals. I moved to JAX FL from NY about six months ago, so these pool maintenance things are new to me and videos like yours are a huge help. I managed to replace the giant Hayward cartridge filter (it was trashed!) with no issues and that improved the water circulation and the pressure dropped from 23psi to 6psi with the new one. My wife wants to switch over to a SALT pool, so that may be another adventure and $$.... :)

I think they do that to sell brand new pumps. At $1200 a piece they are making money hand over first. I had a pool guy tell me I had to buy a new pump. I took it to local machine shop and they just replaced the bearing and it ran like new. Not bad for $145 verses $1200. They replaced the seals for me to while it was disassembled.

If you got a variable speed you would be using 200 watts on half speedcompared to 2000 watts that the single speed is using it would pay for its self and the government would give you a $300 rebate every year every time you file taxes

My Hayward sand filter will work well then after a couple of hours I have no pressure. Ill backwash it then it works again for a few hours. I saw your previous video on the gauge. I just changed mine. Maybe ill get lucky and that'll fix it! Anyone ever have an issue like this?

Well, you added magic lube where you didn’t really need it, and you didn’t add it where you need it. Also, you should not touch the white ceramic surface of the pump seal…Otherwise, not bad info…
