Im so tired of these black women being alone on the below deck crews. If you noticed, the only one that ever lasted was from Below Deck without being driven to insanity was Simone. It was really weird how at one point she was fighting with Matt and then all off the sudden talking crap to Court, one of the sweeties people on the show ever. I know she called her a "see you next Tuesday". But she apologized right away, which shows her character. As far as Matt, I really do not think what he said was that bad, he was just telling her the truth. Sometimes the truth hurts the most.

I do occasionally watch the various versions of Below Deck and I find them interesting but often appalling. I was a professional mariner for about 38 years, (now retired). I started at 17 in the U.S. Navy, spent 24 years there and then another 14 years holding a civilian license. At my 5 year point in the Navy I was offered a job on a yacht in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I almost took it, after seeing this show so many years later I thank my lucky stars that I didn't. When I retired from the Navy in 2004 I received an Able Seaman ticket. Within 4 months that was a 100 Ton Master/200 Ton Mate. I went to work under the 200 Ton Mate. Just 9 months later I upgraded that to 200 Ton Master. I worked that for another 9 months and upgraded that to 1600 Master. I sailed that for the next 10 years. The crew behaviour I see on this "Reality Show" would never have been acceptable on any of the 13 vessels I worked over the 38 years. I find that about half of the crew members depicted, I would have fired within 72 hours. I've never worked on "Luxury Yachts". The vessels I worked on were literally life and death situations almost every day. I worked on 3 Navy destroyers, 3 Navy attack submarines and 2 Trident submarines, all over the world. As a civilian mariner, I worked on 5 Dive Support Vessels (DSV's) in the oilfields in the Gulf of Mexico. All 5 of those were 4 point anchor vessels. As a general rule, we worked either 4 weeks on 2 weeks off or 6 weeks on 3 weeks off, minimum of 12 hours a day straight. You did not get off the vessel during your hitch. To listen to these children bickering, complaining and having their "lover's spats" both disgusts me and makes me wonder how much is scripted. No Captain I ever worked with over 38 years, nor I in my over 11 years holding a Master's license would have ever tolerated it.
