She is completely in the right, these people are paying thousands of dollars for an impeccable service and the smallest little detail matters, including the staffs attitude. With the obvious personality disconnect between her and sandy, I wouldn't want to be there either to be honest. Been in that situation and it sucks, no matter what you do, how much you want the job, if you just can't connect with your leader and your leader can't connect with you, it starts to eat you both up. Best thing is to move on, but so much easier said than done.

Captain Sandy is right, it’s about the guest, you want to wake up and see the boat is ready and welcoming to you, 6am or 9 doesn’t matter, you don’t want to walk into a empty table or room. Hannah doesn’t have that light that fires someone who’s passionate about the job they do, it’s in the details. I thought Hannah would quit last season, all I’ve heard was her complain under her breathe about how she hates the guest and how she hates life, no one wants to hear that. Hannah and the other Chief Stew Kate looks washed out, bitter and angry.

Hanner lied again when she said she thought it was important to have 2 stay up late to take care of the guests. She stayed up late cuz she wanted to hook up with the guest who ruined her vibe telling her he had a girlfriend in Cali. If I was paying for a yacht vacay Id want as much done as possible before I woke up so that if I wanted coffee stat Id be served coffee asap instead of waiting for whoever was in charge of setting the table or squeezing the fresh juice to fit it in.

I wonder if there would be so much support for Hannah had the Capt been a man. Hannah has previously worked with Sandy and knows what is needed. I've been binge-watching the two Below Deck shows so I'm not positive this happened THIS season but one of the stews recommended white-glove service for a white party and Capt Sandy thought it was a great idea. When the stew went to Hannah to recommend it later, Hannah said no and mockingly said it was because, "I don't want to do it". On voice-overs, Hannah said she thought it was old fashioned but that's not what she told the stew. If I'm paying thousands of dollars on a motor yacht, I'd like special service. Waking up to an empty breakfast table makes it seem as though the stews aren't at work yet. All Sandy wanted was a top-notch cruise experience for every passenger. I guess that's too much for some people.

If they can’t be expected to provide consistently great service, then customers can take their money elsewhere. Minor hiccups every now and then are one thing. But, constant incompetence is not okay for paying that kind of money. Otherwise, there would be no point in tipping them insane amounts of money. People’s work ethic in today’s day in age is seriously lacking and alarming. Yet, so many expect tips as if they worked harder than anybody on the planet. It makes zero sense, and people are starting to realize this. I consistently have more bad service than I do great service, as so many people also experience. What happened to great customer service? It almost a thing of the past.

Captain Sandy I completely understand it's all about the presentation. However Hannah has pulled her own weight this entire season and hasn't complained to you or caused any problems. Her group stewardess pulled their own weight. Anastasia pulled her weight in the kitchen for you and each cooked meal looked delicious 😋👌 and amazing. Regardless of the guest unreasonable behavior and high maintenance. Everyone has went done their jobs well. To be so direct with Hannah about a table decorations is ridiculous. If you want your crew to go way above and behind each charter even if the guest are amazing or horrible tell Hannah that with out being a bossy snappy jack rabbit about it. Hannah handled that situation like a lady and not a bratty baby. I applaud her on her professionalism and grace.

@@cynthiaduncan2745 I cant even imagine wanting that much decor in an outdoor dining area on a yacht. I would opt for simple and elegant, with impeccable service being the main feature. Not a lot of weird tchotchke centerpieces that are just in the way and can blow around. Also, this *should* be out of the captain's wheelhouse, its really beneath her to even be discussing it (absent guest complaints). If Sandy wants to do table decor let her be chief stew and let Hannah pretend to drive the boat around.

Sometimes I wonder if even though they say it isn't scripted, if the producers aren't setting some of it up. Others, I think it's a combination of since Sandy is a woman in a male dominated position, she probably already went overboard on perfectionism. Now, on top of that regular drive, she's now filmed and judged by those in the industry and ignorant of it, so she's that much more obsessed with being the best and constantly looking for anything that could be improved, no matter how small. It hasn't helped how much the show has revealed there's stuff she wouldn't be ok with that she isn't aware of, while it is being filmed.

Not to mention this is probably not their first charter and they’re used to the type of service paying half a million gets them. And that’s why you don’t work in a high end service job. It’s about the attention to detail. The guests should be waking up to everything being perfect, no exceptions. Wether they wake up at 6am or 5 to 10. It’s about making sure there is no gaps in service.

Honestly for the amount of money it would cost to charter on that boat- none of the staff (including sandy) have the level of taste required to make it five star. I’ve literally never seen a chic table setting, the majority of the time it looks like party city vomited on the table or else it’s plain as can be. But regardless sandy never told Hannah to do the white glove service- aesha suggested it half heartedly and Hannah rejected the idea seeing as it wasn’t given as an order from her boss. I think Hannah is good at her job and matured a lot from the previous seasons. Sandy is unpredictable- sometimes she is level headed and reasonable and sometimes she just snaps and makes no sense whatsoever. Bravo probably tells her she need to bring more drama to the show?

If Captain Sandy is at the helm next season, I don't see her wanting Hannah back. This season was Hannah's 2nd chance with her. I would not be surprised if we see Bugsy, Aesha or Brooke in the Chief Stew role. Or, one of the 2nd Stews from Below Deck. Except for Kat Held who was horrifying.

Didn't Sandy make a huge deal about what makes her different is that her crew get sleep? From all the episodes I've watched it seems like that's complete BS and she's an ott micromanager who's too weak to deal with people not doing their jobs (e.g. chefs actively going out of their way to upset a primary charter, chefs bullying staff in front of her, chefs just not up to the job at all, sleeping around to get a promotion)

I tried to like Captain Sandy, I am a female captain myself and I liked the idea of her. But I find her awful. Her management technique of calling out senior staff and dressing them down in all staff meetings in front of their subordinates is terrible and causes chain of command issues. She also shows extreme favoritism towards some crew over others, often changing her favorites on a twice weekly basis, and micromanages way too much. She lectured one crew member (one of her favorites of the moment) about alcoholism and recounted a personal story of her long term commitment to sobriety. Then she got a DUI. Her advice was still valid but come on. Either don't bring it up, or discuss it honestly as an ongoing life challenge. Or better yet stop fraternising with the deck hands. They report to the bosun, you undermine his or her authority when you get maternal with people that far below you in the chain. The worst for me, because it spoke to her technical competence, was when she managed to foul her anchors beyond what I have ever seen. I hope that event was staged for drama. Give me Captain Lee and Kate any day. We no longer watch Below Deck Med, I really tried to like it but I just can't.

Agree with you 100%, I haven’t been watching long, so have only seen snippets of Captain Sandy. I did really enjoy watching Captain Lee, and Kate and Leon….scratch that drama and Ben taking over from Leon, and Connie with her whipped cream/peanut butter late night swimming and Rocky. Ahhhh Rocky Rocky Rocky. I think she meant well, but she really is/was a scatterbrain. The South African guy that was desperate to get to ‘know’ Rocky the way Eddie did, and Eddie and his girlfriend problems at home-sleeps with Rocky several times in the laundry room and then has the audacity to claim he would never ‘hook up’ with anyone he was working with-within Rockys earshot…And Dane? The ‘new’ deckhand they had for a few shows? Alcohol just wasn’t his friend.

I totally understand that the clients pay an INSANE amount of money for these charters.. with that being said I think there should be more interior staff hired. What people don’t understand is that these clients need 24/7 service day and NIGHT.. they are often times up until 3 and 4 in the morning which means the staff are up all night. And then expected to be up at 6:00am to get ready for breakfast.. how are they supposed to sustain a schedule like that ?! It’s completely unreasonable.. there needs to be more staff available

💯 A 24/7 type excursion, needs a 24/7 staff. It’s called a skeleton crew, after midnight. I worked it for years & we were very productive. There was a 10% higher pay, too.

I have only seen hanah on laptop or service. She appears lazy. A good supervisor does delegate but!!! Jumps in were needed and checks to make sure things are running smoothly.

She was not well. Her doctor sent confirmation of the prescription within 2 hours. She was on 5mg doses of Valium which is not a lot and no-high vapes but this is not enough for panic attacks, she needed time off. Amazed thay Sandy knows so little about anxiety. It causes first aid needs, when people over breathe and change their body chemistry... And more. It was one of Bravo's most disgraceful episodes. 2-3 of them across the franchise should maybe sue. ⛵🤔

@@katej3z715 Source? All I ever saw/read was no Rx at all. Left to assume she got them on one of the trips. Some meds are easy to get in other countries...OTC. She even said she had no Rx for them. Obviously that dose was not enough for Hannah’s many issues. Keep a paper lunch bag at the ready.... She needed to go, long before then. Never should have been in that position. 🙄

Yes I agree. I don’t know what it is, but people nowadays are getting anxiety over the littlest things. It’s like people weren’t taught how to handle stress. Everyone is stressed out, but some people act like their little things are the end of the world... I don’t get it. Life is hard sometimes, but you pick yourself up and get back to it. Not throw yourself into a panic. It’s sad so many people have to medicate over it. I feel like society is to blame for acting like it’s normal to freak out over little things. I don’t know... it’s just odd to me.
