One of the stupidest, least informative videos I've seen about this issue. It's illegal in Brazil to publicly incite toppling democracy. These "opposition figures" Di Martino mentions are specifically people who were calling for that. Which in Brazil is a crime. Musk's refusal to ban these accounts which were committing crimes incited a fine, which he tried to evade by removing Twitter's legal representation in Brazil. You Can't operate in Brazil without legal representation (otherwise, how will the site be held accountable to local laws?) and Musk was warned of that and refused to appoint legal representatives in Brazil. That's why it was blocked, because once they removed representation, it was operating illegally here. As soon as he appoints a new legal representative and pays the fines for operating illegally, the site will be made available in Brazil again.

To those claiming this is censorship: Freedom of speech is different from using social media to commit crimes, such as spreading fake news, abuse, incitement or glorification of violence and crime, scams, forgeries, threats, etc. Just because it's social media doesn't mean there are no laws. If a company is being notified about these 'crimes,' it must follow the law and act for the safety of its users and society as a whole. Elon Musk behaves like a child, making decisions based on what suits him, and thinks that just because he's rich, he owns the world and can't be contradicted.

The general point being made here (that this is undue censorship & an overreach) is somewhat sound. But, I feel like a key difference between this and, say, banning FB in the U.S. for comments made by Trump for example, is that 1) in the case of Mµ§K, he is such an illigitimate individual to be running a social media platform (as opposed to Zuckerberg who at least knows what he's doing), and 2) many of his investors are beginning to turn on him for having been been defrauded by him & his many failing companies, such that his clothing, as an emperor, is beginning to wear thin. Point is : I would consider the world has reached a point where some might consider it legitimate to remove at least some power from this dysmal individual, especially if he poses a threat to your integrity as a nation.

I am Brazilian and our democracy is undergoing a process of erosion here. We are a few steps behind Venezuela, if we don't take care of ourselves we will have the same fate as them. In this specific case of X in Brazil, Elon Musk is doing what is right by trying to fight against censorship and defend freedom of expression. Republican system in Brazil is the biggest problem, these problems repeat constitution by constitution; Brazil already had 5 constitutions, 5 republics and all failed. Brazilian culture does not match with republican system, because it was imposed by a military coup in 1889 with some evil hands from UK and US to weaken the catholic culture, but our biggest problems can only be moderated and controlled as it was in the past by the Imperial Parlamentarism, which one day delivered to brazilian people a real unity, tranquility and freedom to build it's own future. After more than 100 years of republic, the systeam teached to all the generations of brazilians that our Imperial Parlamentarism was the hell and now we have ''democracy''.
