Last time I remember eating bread and butter pudding was back in 1987!. That was the year that I became an ex-pat and went off to places where they don't have that kind of thing. Now thanks to you Incredible Food London, my soul is not going to rest until I rediscover my roots and get the bread, butter & raisins in the oven. That just leaves the small job of what I am going to say to the kids tomorrow morning when they can't find any bread to make their sandwiches for school...

Ideally you should put the raisins between the layers of bread. That way they plump up in the custard. If you put them on the top they blacken and taste charred.

This is the nearest I have seen to the Bread Pudding I had at school in Glasgow in the 1960's! The only difference is complete slices and no triangles. If I remember correctly it was made with a thin custard and served with a thick custard. Not every week so it was a real treat.
@critchley9993 жыл бұрын
If I was making it I'd butter all the bread before cutting it into halves or triangles. Would save a lot of time I think. Looks tasty.

It’s harder to butter then cut

Pls tell me hw much of Brandy should be added and the has to be mixed with the milk or later after baking .
@IncredibleFood2 жыл бұрын
You dont have to add brandy to the pudding. You can make a custard sauce and add brandy to it . Pudding + custard sauce + vanilla ice cream ..= so good bro But if you want to you can add baileys to the pudding mix
@mafildaaugustine14782 жыл бұрын
Thanx so much I will be try this pudding.
@brigitte46354 жыл бұрын
Bread pudding was invented in search of a way to use old/ hard bread, and you discarded the crust of a soft fresh toast bread? That's quite odd. Also all this butter is not necessary! ....but I liked the music !!
@IncredibleFood4 жыл бұрын
brigitte4635 thanks for your feedback
@cliffhulcoopofficial80753 жыл бұрын
In fairness Mary Berry, Gary Rhodes and many others discard the crusts.

That music is beyond irritating. I know I can mute but WHY WHY WHY do you have such annoying snippets of unrelating music?
@suzannehedderly13313 жыл бұрын
While I'm sure it's delicious, that is a tedious way of making it. And where were the spices of cinnamon and nutmeg? Where's the hard sauce? Lol so many different ways to make it.
@IncredibleFood3 жыл бұрын
Well some people like it rather simple , You can add the spice to your taste buds Cinnamon,nutmeg,orangepeel,,candied ginger. ✌️
