Drawing the first third of this year’s race to a close prior to the second rest day is the first real stage in the Alps, a 193km-long slog with 3,680m of climbing. Will it be a breakaway or the yellow jersey favourites who battle it out on the final climb - the Pas de Morgins - and the final fatiguing drag up to the finish in Châtel?

Absolutely awesome 63km break by Jungels. Good chase by Pinot (obviously ignoring his power meter). But most surprising was Danny Martinez being dropped. Man I love mountain stages.
@kenkaniff8428
@kenkaniff8428 Жыл бұрын
Yes I was a bit shocked to see D. Martinez getting dropped. Ineos is my team so that caught me by surprise but they had Castroviejo in the break and finished 2nd so that helped them in the team classification but we all know Ineos is not here for overall team classification tho. They want the overall WIN!! Pogi has a weakness tho and that is the HEAT so I'm hoping he has just ONE "off day" but I don't see that happening tbh. G needs 1' 17" and even if Pogi has an off day or something happens with him I dont see Vingegaard having any issues. Vingegaard was my pick for the OVERALL WIN this TDF. He has something to prove to the team and the world. It reminds me of the Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome situation back in 2013. Froome wanted to prove to everyone that he was just as capable or even MORE capable than Wiggo. I see the same thing happening with Roglic and Vingegaard. I feel like there's some animosity just beneath the surface with Roglic and Vingegaard. I feel like there's some tension within the team

@@HBosman ohhh Ineos has got "guts" but I'm not seeing Martinez recovering TBH. He looked pretty run down on stage 10. He got Dropped it looked like. Ineos is my favourite team so I'm ALL IN for Ineos but I'm also a practical person. I call it like I see it but I've said this many times . . . Ineos is the MOST tactical and patient team in the sport. They ABSOLUTELY have plans. Probably in the 3rd week I'm guessing. Stage 11 and 12 will be a GREAT thing to watch tactics in play. We will see some moves made but the BIG moves will be 3rd week I believe

Stupid attacks will lose more time. You have to attack smartly...and in such a way that UAE alone has to respond.
@HBosman
@HBosman Жыл бұрын
There was actually a good discussion on that today. Ineos had numbers and could in theory tire the UAE domestiques out. Then attack one by one so Pog is forced to respond. When he catches one, the next guy attacks. For example Pidcock, then Yates, then Thomas (3 of them in top 7). The problem was UAE survived with 3 riders and Martinez cracked for Ineos.

I don't accuse any rider of doping unless there is EVIDENCE and PROOF of them doping. The problem is with the doping protocol and the techniques the use. Pogi is BLOWING AWAY the accomplishments of the riders in the 90s when doping was rampant so it does make you think tho. As I said, I won't accuse unless there's PROOF but there's just NO WAY Pogi is SMASHING the output of Armstrong and others in the 90s if he's not doping. It's VERY suspect that he's SMASHING the output of the doping era of the 90s tho. I will wait for PROOF tho before I accuse
