I love how you give constructive criticism of the things you didn't like as much instead of taking the low road and trashing it. All the time I lived in Houston, I never got to Seiwa! Next time I go back there, I'll hit up my one friend who lives out there to take me there. H-Mart is one of my favorite places to be, but I'm always up to trying something new. Good show as always, Mike!

That's basically every grocery store in the US - and it's just 1 side of the aisle. You have to go to either the local asian markets or an international food market to get all the good imported stuff.
@RatluBoogerbag
@RatluBoogerbag 3 жыл бұрын
At the risk of being tedious, the majority of things in British supermarkets were not invented in Britain. We have isles full of rice, pasta, pizza, pastries, all of which aren't British. We then have counters full of cheese, most of which aren't British, fish, a lot of which wasn't caught in British waters. Our supermarkets are full of a plethora of "international" food. Maybe you're just not looking hard enough.
@BodgeupsAirsoft
@BodgeupsAirsoft 3 жыл бұрын
@@RatluBoogerbag yeh fair comment, but in my opinion it's all "normalised". And everything is specifically made with UK labels, UK nutritional info, UK considered branding etc. I enjoy looking at "genuine" international food items because I'm not the target market, if that makes sense?

@@jokerbug Love them both. Never had a bad experience at either. I recall now how happy I was when I first googled Japanese grocery store and found that there are two 10-15 minutes away from me. Daido has extra firm tofu, unlike Seiwa and often, H-Mart - something I almost always pick up. I also like not having to take time checking for expiration dates (talking about seiwa and daido.)

MY GOD, how come he tastes so many dishes in the same segment. I wish I had that knack for tasting everything he eats.😜

I can't believe Mike Chan is in a market I go to!! I can't wait for you to try out stuff in houston, I told all my friends you eat here now! You NEED to do a series for favorite hotpot and favorite korean bbq place in Houston PLEASE. I can't afford to go to like 30 spots, I entrust that challenge to you sir(I've only tried like 7)

The egg in the soboro don is supposed to be sweet, Mikey! My mom used to make that for me anytime I got sick when I was a kid. 😄 Also you gotta cook those arabiki spicy sausages first! It’s snaps better!

I have never been into a store that had anything like these places Mike finds. I mean this stuff looks as good as you could get in a restaurant. I need to look around and see if there is anything like this near me.

I do my monthly grocery shopping at that H-mart. The one thing Katy Asia Town is missing is a shop that sells sugarcane juice. The first and last time I had that was in Coco Sweets on Bellaire.

......more technically; the quality difference between the smoked ducks is the T-800 (living tissue over a hyperalloy endoskeleton.) vs the T-1000 ( advanced prototype, mimetic poly-alloy over liquid metal)
