That's basically every grocery store in the US - and it's just 1 side of the aisle. You have to go to either the local asian markets or an international food market to get all the good imported stuff.
@LongbranchOlivetti
@LongbranchOlivetti 3 жыл бұрын
At the risk of being tedious, the majority of things in British supermarkets were not invented in Britain. We have isles full of rice, pasta, pizza, pastries, all of which aren't British. We then have counters full of cheese, most of which aren't British, fish, a lot of which wasn't caught in British waters. Our supermarkets are full of a plethora of "international" food. Maybe you're just not looking hard enough.
@BodgeupsAirsoft
@BodgeupsAirsoft 3 жыл бұрын
@@LongbranchOlivetti yeh fair comment, but in my opinion it's all "normalised". And everything is specifically made with UK labels, UK nutritional info, UK considered branding etc. I enjoy looking at "genuine" international food items because I'm not the target market, if that makes sense?

*和風ドレッシング* is just vegetable oil, soy sauce and rice vinegar, sometimes grated onion. It seems like foreigners can't help but kick it up with a dab of wasabI, which honestly I don't hate-I've always put a bunch of grated ginger in mine. Speaking of Sino-, if you put sesame oil in there it becomes 中華ドレッシング (chūka dressing, without the 風) . *EDIT:* That's another subtlety that foreigners miss-it doesn't become 中華風ドレッシング (chūka-fū dressing), but a salad dressed with 中華ドレッシング _does_ become 中華風サラダ (chūka-fū salad).

Stop calling it gyO-don! it's Gyu! From the Japanese word for cow/beef. You don't call it WagyO do you?

Japanese themed supermarkets are always an instant hit. What other food haulers don't get is that taking time to film the selection before eating it is half the joy.

You gotta get an air fryer Mikey. Heating up take home foods or breaded grocery items.... it makes such a big difference. No more soggy takeout katsu.

I do my monthly grocery shopping at that H-mart. The one thing Katy Asia Town is missing is a shop that sells sugarcane juice. The first and last time I had that was in Coco Sweets on Bellaire.

I was at that Seiwa about a month ago, but they didn't have the egg salad sandwich, which disappointed me very much as that was my favorite thing at the Conbinis in Japan. I literally had one nearly everyday for breakfast.
