This video gives the breakfast and Lunch weekly Combo plan for Day 2. the menu is Idli and Sambar for breakfast and Puli Sadam (Tamarind Rice) for lunch.
Ingredients
For Idli
Raw rice 1 cup
idli Rice 1 cup
urad Dal 1 cup
Methi seeds 1 Tsp
for Sambar
Tamarind a small lemon size
Coconut grated 2 Tsp heaped
Coriander seeds 1 Tbsp
Channa Dal 2 Tsp
Dry Red Chilli 5-6
Hing a pinch
salt
Turmeric powder
Roasted Gram(daliya Dal) 1/4 cup
Oil 1 Tbsp
Mustard Seeds 1 Tsp
Curry leaves a few
Green Chilli 1
Onions 2-3
Tomatoes 4-5
Radish 1
For Puli Sadam
Rice 1 cup
Tamarind a large lemon size
Salt
Oil 2 Tbsp
Dry Red chilli 4
Garlic a few pcs
Onion 2
salt
Turmeric Powder
Groundnuts 2 Tbsp
Curry leaves a few
Daniya(coriander Seed ) Powder 1 Tsp

Aunty, I just noticed that you use a few Aluminium utensils. One suggestion would be to replace all Aluminium products with Stainless Steel products. Research has shown a strong link between cancer, autism and other ailments with prolonged use of Aluminium utensils.

This is measurement for mixie grinding. if you use wet grinder you can even use 4;1

I love your videos maam but there is one confusion that in the ayurved its said that if we cook food on high flame we get alot of gas problems ...is there any way we can avoid this problem while taking care of time ?

I haven't heard of that, Bhumika. But in our cooking itself the recipes have ingredients which take care of these problems. For example when cooking urad dal we add methi seeds to it while grinding for idli, and this helps to take care of gas problems.Of course, nowadays we have slow cookers (electric) too available in the market

Brown tamarind is the new one. It gets black over time always better to use Brown one for cooking as it gives a better colour

Idli rice means which mam ? Boiled rice ?

It is parboiled rice. A variety of short grain rice, which has a bright white colour at the tip. This is different from the boiled rice used for eating with meals. If it is not available, you can use regular boiled rice.

Grind till u get a soft batter if the mixi gets heated up, wait for some time and then start again

add the salt as soon as you finish grinding the batter. Mix it very well with your hands and allow to ferment for 8 hours

After fermentation, keep the batter in the fridge. Remove it half an hour before making.
