Hi ma'am I feel a real warmth in your cooking. Started watching all your recipes. Kudos to your lovely narration. Could you guide me with recipes for my son recovering from acid reflux. He's a foodie. But now under restrictions. He is 14 years old. I am able to make a healthy diet but Very challenging to make it tasty without adding spices that are hot, lemon, onions.etc. I make pulav without much oil, vazhapoo rice, pavakkai poriyal. Which he likes. It would be great if you could help me plan a menu.
@GitasKitchen6 жыл бұрын
hi Sangita. Its a pity that at just 14 your son is suffering from acid reflux. Lifestyle changes do help a lot as you might be aware. Break up the entire meal plan for the day to 5 or 6 small meals at regular intervals rather than 3 heavy meals.Yoghurt is very good to combat acid reflux. Include a bowl of curd everyday.Include fruits like banana and watermelon. Avoid citrus fruits. Avoid raw onions and cola drinks.More than the spices, it is the fat/oil which causes the reflux so avoid excess oil or deep fried foods. You can give him dal soup lightly spiced with salt and roasted jeera .Try including amla powder in his diet.

Geeta ma'am plz tell how you keep grated coconut ready always .. it feels like a huge task for a North Indian . I buy frozen grated coconut but wonder how can I use fresh one as nothing can beat the taste of a fresh coconut . So difficult to take it out of the shell and then grate 😔
@GitasKitchen6 жыл бұрын
Not a problem, Pooja. you can just cut into pieces and put it in the mixer.I'll show you how to break it in another video. Also, we have a simple tabletop coconut grater which is very convenient to use. I'll try to give the link o that too. For our south indian cooking, coconut is an integral part so i always grate 2 coconuts and keep ready in the freezer
@Pooja-wf5el6 жыл бұрын
thank you so much ma'am ! I live in US and here ppl are going crazy over coconut .. I too want to include it in my cooking but other than chutney didn't know in what dishes to use it . Through your videos I'm getting so many ideas . I'll look forward to your video on how to break ,extract and freeze and thaw coconut 😊thanks so much for your prompt reply . The best thing about your videos is you take time to reply to each and every person ☺you're the BEST!! and you're looking very pretty in that red saari ☺

I'll definitely do it once i get back to India. right now, i'm in Doha. thanks for your request, i just realised that being a south Indian myself I took so many everyday things for granted, as we have been doing it for years. Never thought that a video on this might be useful too
