this is just a quick simple taste test of the mountain house biscuit and gravy meals like you get at Walmart. These are add water only meals and are great to add to a bug out bag or a emergency kit for earthquake or other natural distaster areas.. while i was doing this video i was joined by a un expected guest watch to see ..lol

I know that a lot of people don't like Mountain House but honestly, I have never had one of their meals I didn't find at least enjoyable on some level. I guess the times I have eaten them were always in the field and that means most likely I was hungry but still, they are decent to me. I wouldn't go comparing it to Stowaway Gourmet but it is about 1/3 to half the price as well. The biscuits and gravy meal I believe did have sausage crumbles in it last time I bought it. It was better than expected. I have two totes currently packed away full of MH meals that I bought on trips to the store. One or two each trip was my habit.

Walmart has a canned sausage gravy that’s about a buck a can and it’s great. If you are car camping weight isn’t an issue then add some prior backed biscuits and your set. If you don’t have biscuits toast work too. Just trying to save you some cash. Have fun on your outings and stay safe.

That was a fair and accurate assesment of Mountain House meals overall. It's a hell of an improvement over ramen any day. One idea worth considering is getting your own dehydration system. It practically pays for itself in savings over the first year. The best upside is you can make the meals you like, the way you like them. Bag it and tag it! I do have a Q for you: Have you ever taken Amarillo out camping with you? If so, how did that work out? I have a cat and would love to take him out camping with me. Any advice would be welcomed. From you or fellow campers. Thank you in advance.

One trick I learned back in my boy scout days was to hold the knife or scraper still and pull the ferro rod against it. Helps avoid accidentally scattering tinder bundles or knocking a stove over with the scraping tool. For whatever it's worth. Thanks for the great content, always love seeing a new video from ya.

Just one correction. They're freeze dried, not dehydrated. Big difference in shelf life. I'm a huge Mountain House fan but you do have to watch some of the nutritional information. The scrambled eggs with bacon has several days worth of cholesterol in each serving.

yes it is better or worse depending on the gun the spiller and burr completely hid the bottom of the sight.. you can bob the nose of the hammer a bit the cap is struck in the middle or close so you can file the hump down a tad

But more than anything else when it comes to Any women's issues my father always said " if they'd learned how to make biscuits , they wouldn't have to put up with that bullshit ". Yeah it was his way of humor . But being Southern born & Southern bred myself I still in 2021 must agree . If you are the bread winner she damn well better learn how to cook .
