They are her bosses, she not that high on the pyramid. The more she becomes an EP the more control she will gain. Now shes a bigger player in the industry. So when contracts are negotiated she will own a bigger slice. In turn she will be in control of preventing that situation when shes more at the top of that pyramid.

No one cared when I tried to explain what had happened because of how I had behaved. I learned from that day no matter how mad I got always go to the bathroom take a deep breath then write a detail email, then call your friend and read it to them so they can help you calm down even more.

It's clearly more nuanced than just straight up believing someone over another. Saying that she has to believe women comes from the historical truth that women have faced 100's, if not 1000's, of years of male based domination and oppression. Women have systematically been dis-believed by men because the men have been the ones holding the power in most societies. Yes women are fully capable of lying and have done so but this is more than that in this context and even if a woman is found to have lied, she is still at a disadvantage within the structure of patriarchy in multiple ways.
