Thank you, Mandisa! I was molested by my Grandfather who was a Methodist Preacher, and was told by my Mother that I couldn’t say anything to anyone because it would hurt his reputation. I never trusted anyone in my family after that. God became my Father and my source of safety! I knew that God was always there for me. Him I could trust! I have struggled with forgiveness for my Grandfather. I am now at a point where I am ready to forgive him. Because as you say, Jesus died to forgive me of all my sins so I certainly can forgive my Grandfather. Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability. Also, I have struggled with my weight and depression my whole life.

Lady, I have loved you since the moment you opened your mouth during auditions and started singing. It was also the last season I watched American Idol because of Simon's comment about your weight and the stage. Stronger is the one song that has kept me from suicide when I was at my lowest points in my life during a 6 year period with my daughter, son and father's drug abuse and raising 2 grandkids in my 50s. The Bible warns us about food Philippians 3:19 Their destiny is destruction. Their God is their stomach. And their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly thanks. She made a choice to overeat. Overeating is a sin and sin is a choice we always have a choice that's why Jesus died for our sins so we don't have to die he took our place. So we don't have to sin it's a choice we make. If Jesus did not die for us we would have no power over anything it's a Choi ce I'm going to sit down and eat a whole pizza and a whole bag of chips and then I'm gonna eat all the ice cream I want because I choose to do it and yes I don't care about the consequences right now or God's boundaries and I know it's not easy I struggle myself but let's call it😮 what it really is Gluttony , And gluttony in the bible is a sin and sin is a choice
