They were investigating it. Problem is, the friend of Gaetz that was convicted is deemed an untrustworthy witness of low character. The 17 year old might not want to rehash all this and might genuinely believe, that she was not a minor. She probably has a life set up and does not want people at her work bullying her with Airhockey Table references. In cases were you have an uncooperative victim, bad witnesses, and a rich defendant, the justice department waits and fishes a bit longer. Double jeopardy seems stupid sometime.
