If you have a large chest you are told not to wear anything high cut, low cut, baggy or form fitting. You can't win. Had a reduction for pain reasons, and that also gets judged. I feel like women can't win no matter what. I just wear whatever makes ME happy now. 🤷‍♀️

YUP. I have always had a larger chest, even at my thinnest, even when I was 13, whatever. I’ve always had a bigger chest and it never mattered what I wore. Low cut? Showing off. High cut? Showing off. Baggy clothes? Look sloppy. Form fitting? Showing off. Like ffs people, worry about yourself and your unhappiness with trying to stand by your own rules and leave me be -_-

This is like the tall women can't wear heels rule. If I want to be 6'6" in heels it's my business yet people still point and stare. Not everyone is 5'7" and 110 lbs. All that matters is that you're comfortable.
@vermilioneyes9006

Even at 5'7 people get offended (for lack of a better word) that I dare to wear heels. It's pretty annoying to always feel uncomfortable. When people stare often you still feel the eyes on you even when they aren't looking anymore.

I really appreciate you saying something about how most of these "rules" are to make your body appear smaller. I work in a plus size clothing store and so many of my customers are scared to try new things because "oh, that won't be flattering" or "I'll look fat in that." Fat bodies are not bad or wrong, and "flattering" doesn't have to mean "looks thinner".
@89spezzini
@89spezzini 4 жыл бұрын
That's so true and something I learn right now. I always wore baggy black clothes to "look slimmer" and now I try out clothes I really like, f.e. flared jeans and blouses. They show off my curves, don't hide them and that's still kind of weird to me, but it suits me so much better.
@leonoormulder2872

You sound amazing. I always try to tell people that, if they can afford it, they should go get a personal styling workshop. And ofcourse in a store with people like yourself! It should be a store that sells clothing in the widest range posible (very small to very large. Or if you are on the large side a plus size store to begin with.) So that you're sure you won't get looks and just get suport! In those type of stores they not only are kind and suportive; they also know how to dress plus size woman. And we all can learn, atleast most of us can, so we won't keep buying clothes 2 sizes to big to hide, but buy our real size and look&feel good wearing it!
@leonoormulder2872

@@89spezzini So proud you took that reallt big step! That's super scary but you took it anyway, and I'm sure it will pay off! (Meaning you'll get used to it and feel more confident and positive 😊
@leonoormulder2872
@leonoormulder2872 4 жыл бұрын
@Glühfunke That's why it's good to have stores that give workshops. Everyone can use that so ofcourse plus size people too. If it's a good store they'll know how to dress a plussize person and know how to treat her. (It can be pretty emotional). And eventually it comes down to understanding buying&wearing 2 sizes to big doesn't do any good. It's perfectly fine wearing your own size. That's usually the thing; we either think it's; lets go 2 or more sizes to big or so small it's super tight and squeezes all our curves together. So we need to learn what our real size is. And that is the one in which nothing gets squeezed and nothing is stretched so far you cam put your leggs in there; but just comfortable, a little room in the fabrik is enough. Often we need help to find that size because we either hang on to what size we used to be or what we feel will hide it all bigtime. So we just need to ask for that help because we are all worth feeling comfortable and good about ourselfs!

Unfortunately those rules apply to everybody, not only plus size people (unless you are really skinny). I know a lot of average weight girls who avoid clothes they genuinely like because they're afraid they'll look "fat".

We do sort of see this in other video's of her's :). One being "clothes I hated" which someone already mentioned below (or above, not sure if my comment comes above or below the older ones haha😅). And in video's she does with a friend in which they both pic a few sets of clothing which often involve outfits she would normally not wear. Aswel as a video she made in which she forced herself to choose one item per day from her own closet that she's never worn since buying it and styles the best she can with other items on her closet. But I do like this idea aswel! I just think it will be a little harder to do since she buy's it all herself ofcourse so she'd be able to take it all back or film all of it in the store... But the idea is lots of funn!!

Unless you post yourself up, incredibly uncomfortably, in a chair, EVERYONE gets rolls and looks a little bigger when they sit down. It’s because you lap pushes you stomach up and your posture, when relaxed, pushes your top half down. I used to be so self conscious about that, even when I was a size 0, that I wouldn’t sit down at a bar or club because I felt so fat. It’s disgusting what women put themselves through, physically, in order to feel confident and “better” looking.

@@ericapearl04 Exactly. People often tend to wear both lose clothing on top and bottem because they feel this 'hides' their figure. But more often then not, wearing all lose / to big clothes makes you look far bigger then you actually are. And if we don't feel comfortable to wear well sized clothing, then it's a really good solution to choose something lose for top OR bottem and something more fitting for the other part. - Usually we're way more beautifully curved then we realise and by wearing too big or lose clothing, no one will ever notice! It's super hard to try but once we do and people start noticing, they start complimenting and we'll feel good enough to dress ourselfs like that more often. -- We just need to realise there is a difference between wearing lose and to tight clothing. To tight is what shows all blubs and lines etc. And no one will feel good in that. But it is so much prettier to wear something that is a little lose, you know, comfortable to move in and a little extra fabric; Then to wear something 2 sizes to big and you start to believe you're not worth being seen!
@leonoormulder2872
@leonoormulder2872 4 жыл бұрын
If anyone can afford it I really advice them to take a workshop styling; one on one (or with a sister, friend) go to a store and get good advice on what suits your body/bodytype. - Just make sure it's a store that sells clothes from wide range, very extra small to very extra large and best a store of which you know is very body positive so they'll not only know how to dress you but also make you feel good and comfortable during the whole proces♡! I did this once and the woman were so kind. If you find the right store they'll really help you well and make sure you are mentally supported. (No use of going to a random store and get looked at and all those awefull things!). -- After doing that you'll see you can 1 wear your real size instead of way bigger to cover yourself up and 2 you can wear whatever the hell makes YOU feel good!

In my humble opinion, high waisted jeans make people's bums look "long," which is not a good look. It's not flattering on everybody. To me it accentuates my stomach, digs into my ribs and creates rolls when I sit down. They also ride up my crotch like crazy. No thanks. I just think they're not made for my body type, I prefer a mid-rise - it makes the booty look much perkier.

I love oversized tops. In order to not get the “tent” look, I always pair them with more form fitting bottoms. It seems to add a balance that doesn’t make you appear bigger than you are. I was also always told by my sister, who is plus sized, that wearing clothes that are, at least, one size bigger than your “normal” size will actually make you appear smaller. I’ve lived by that rule since I was in high school, and a size 0, and it’s never done me wrong.

I have been doing this with Just Fab. As long as you either call and cancel or skip every month, you can get the “good deal” no problem

Youre so hecking inspiring!!! So many women act like its against the rules for them to love themselves because they don't fit into typical beauty standards and you promoting loving every inch of your body is so amazing and it such a great influence to younger girls💕 keep doing what you do

I actually think that first sweater is super flattering. I tend to think oversized sweaters are so cute on everyone else and feel like they make me look bigger. But it's all in my head. It doesn't make you look bigger at all!

During the explanation of puffy jacket, Sierra: “I think it’s ridiculous” referring to the fashion “standards”. All I kept thinking was “I think it’s ridiculous that her teeth 🦷 are matching SO perfectly white with it!!” Lol😁😂🙈 💕 Looking good Girl!!!💕

Thank you girl for showing off that pooch! That is something I struggle with when I decide to tuck my shirt in or wear something cropped. I’m always so self conscious of how big my stomach looks. So thank you

The only “rule” that upset me is the white jacket and that is only because I know I’d ruin it in two minutes!! 💯

Hi Sierra, can you please do a video on " i dressed according to pluss size rules for a week" 😊

Yeah, I've heard the " NO TURTLENECKS !! " rule forever ( even for some who aren't plus size ). I'm plus size now and I still wear them because they're warm, comfortable and I like how they look on me :) About the only thing I'll do aesthetically is to layer a V-neck or cowlneck sweater and/or a jacket.
