@@hershelreed7167 nop. SS don’t give a Social number without proof of a legal residence in the states, could be a contract for employment or permanent residence. The IRS gives a ITIN # and with it, they pay taxes and can open a bank account. But by the end, don’t get any refund. About Medicaid, is selective, even the last times I found people waiting for a work permit or temporal residence are being granted with Medicaid ER. This Medicaid only works when the life is in risk. No for flu or any minor injuries. Only is the life is threatening to die. The problem here is Mexico allowed thousands of thousands people crossing the territory with any problem and USA for not working with Mexico and apply stronger measurements to no allow enter the people to Mexico..

I live in florida USA for years and no illegall person can obtain social security,food stamps ,medicaid ,thats for refugees /assylees ,the USA citizen children from illegal parents they may qualify for those benefits like any other usa citizen or green card holder ,but not the parents

There is a legal migrant worker program that has been in place for decades. The issue is that the corporations who own all these huge farms don't want to pay for the work permits to bring the migrants into the country. They also don't want to pay the migrant workers the decent wage that the program mandates.

Dubai brings in workers (construction etc) but not their entire family. Strawberries don’t cost $4 if we are paying for their kids schools, medical and other expenses. We need to expand the farm workers program and they can send the $ home to support their families. Advocates should be encouraging that.

the abuse is tremendous even in housing.. provider services are being paid for and the providers dont do the work but they do split the checks between the provider and the receiver of the services. how is it that these ppl are not checked? housing also ppl doing drugs and paying a few dollars a month for housing and the rest being picked up by the taxpayers so they have enough to get high etc. why isnt the govt making it a requirement to drug test? i mean if you have to take a drug test to get hired, keep a job etc. why not test folks getting housing assistance for FREE? this is really messed up!!!

Just to point out, you stated that ~13,000 people still convicted of homicide are not in ICE detention, this does NOT mean that those people are not in state or federal prison, it simply means they are not in ICE or immigration detention. You made it seem that all these people are convicted murderers walking the streets which is inaccurate and contributes to harmful stereotypes.

This constant talk about who will pick the strawberries is laughable. Did you ever look at the box of the fruit you buy? The stuff is imported from South America. Also the people that came here in the last 4 years don’t have the papers to work here so either they haven’t worked or work illegally and didn’t pay taxes yet use all the privileges of us taxpayers. The shame of this all is my parents spent thousands of thousands of dollars and went through H3ll to become a legal citizen. back then there were no sanctuary cities and no free cell phones nor were they given a driver's license. They bust thier Azz to become legal at time when things were a helluva lot worse... These is the same rethoric ss usual, they are going to look for people with criminal felonies, domestic violence, robbery, assault, etc. that has or should have been the case always. However, in my perspective they are going to round up people in different specific spots, ask for papers and illegal, then farewell. It is being a nightmare this for many people who lives here illegally, which, there has always been. This issue must be solved now, no more waiting, unfortunately the hate won and there is no hope of any comprehensive. However without providing some relief to people already here for at least a decade or more, this would continue to be use as political ballot, one thing is for sure, the border as it is, the aylum laws and the immigration laws must be changed. Some of us immigrants like myself came here for a better life not only for ourselves but also for our child or children and because of the act and crimes of these immigrants we all will be paying for it. My child and I have never gotten into any trouble or problems. we don't have any criminal background. Thank God over here, nor back home. we should be tough on immigration; but it must be uniformly tough and fact-based ; it seems like immigration is laced with racial bias, gender bias, marital status bias that in any other context such as housing or employment would get your butt sued off. A visa could be granted or denied not based on objective facts, but simply how whatever interviewer you draw feels about you.
