I am SURE Slimane's going to Chanel. And if so, boy, Chanel's best years are still ahead. It will be equal or beyond to Lagerfeld's legacy.

Well just designs won’t do it. Chanel leadership need to invest in quality control and go back to real fabrics.synthetic garbage with astronomical prices won’t cut it 🤪

So grateful for your coverage from the very first Celine video I watched of yours until today… and many more to come I’m sure in the future! I will be incredibly curious to see how Celine evolves over the next couple of years. The amount of work Hedi put in at this brand is almost unbelievable, and he absolutely deserved to be compensated for his efforts. I’m hoping the higher ups start to value creatives more as time goes on, but for now I’m hoping it was ultimately Hedi’s decision to part ways. I’m simply positive he went above and beyond on his deliverables, so I will be forever grateful for the design and art he’s added to Celine’s history! Let’s hope they continue to sell his fragrance and beauty line and don’t tamper too much with the formulations!!! 🖤🖤🖤

😩😩 I’m with you on all of it. I bought 2 16 bags b/c I loved the design so much same with SDJ. 😢 I have a black and white ad on the back of a magazine laying on a stack by accident and I looked down and said that looks like Chanel. This was like yesterday I think. Thank you for your info and context I always enjoy it thoroughly. ❤

Yes the 16 is such an amazing bag🙌 The SJD is iconic! Ohh yes, it seems like it would only be natural for him to go to Chanel❤❤❤

Great video, Mary! ❤ I agree with you that he will probably go Chanel or French or nothing. He seems to be someone who's work is truly an extension of his own identity and he probably wouldn't look to just stay on the metaphorical treadmill simply to keep working, unless it feels like it's something of real meaning. I also loved that Celine under Hedi had no problem putting its nose up at AW and Vogue, the mainstream. Very, very sad that he's gone. I truly hope that they continue in the same design direction for some time and IMO I can't imagine why they would NOT, given how successful said design direction has been (it made Celine the 3rd most successful LVMH house)! I would really hate it if suddenly the Triomphe logo became tacky (though I feel it is so classically beautiful, I will always wear it). I have one Heloise, one Triomphe Classique, and one 16. Would love to get more bags but also kind of want to sit tight for a few months to see what happens next! How do you feel about your (new) Celine bags in light of this news?
@lalaland81852 күн бұрын
This makes me very sad. In a way I will also be sad if he goes to chanel, to me Celine is a mood, a statement and I vibe with everything they have. I can't see myself being a regular chanel customer, even if money was no issue!

Karl was a fan of Slimane. I can see Hedi at Chanel and think he’d be a good fit. He could definitely move the brand forward and make it covetable again. Sadly, Virginie’s tenure was less than stellar aesthetically. Lagerfeld left BIG shoes to fill. It’s going to take a confident and seasoned designer with a proven commercial track record.
@MarysRoom16 сағат бұрын
Yes I think he would change the brand like Karl did. They both have big personalities and distinct design styles that work with Chanel. I could really see it❤❤❤
