People need to quit comparing 2013 Super Bowl to now. let’s not forget in 2013 when Beyoncé performed at the Super Bowl there were no rappers headlining the Super Bowl. 2022 when Dr Dre performed at the Super Bowl was the first time a rapper headlined the Super Bowl. So that is why no one said anything back in 2013 because people really didn’t expect rappers to headline the a Super Bowl back then. Now I could understand people from New Orleans as well as Lil Wayne fans probably viewed the Super Bowl in 2022 and seen Dr Dre who is from LA headline it and seen Lil Wayne open to the idea and thought it he should perform and probably feel Kendrick performed a few years ago and think is unfair Kendrick is performing again. At the same time people should also realize the Super Bowl is a not a hip hop event is a business and the half time show is a music performance. As a business you were gonna go with what’s gonna make the most money and gonna be less of a risk taker. The reality is Lil Wayne don’t fit that criteria. He has too many tattoos has a criminal past known for his drug use and has too much unpredictability about him that the NFL don’t want to risk having him perform. With Kendrick he is a sober person, has lots of accolades, sold out shows, awards, no obvious tattoos, and a more family friendly appearance. Plus, he has the biggest song right now and he’s the biggest artist at the moment so it only makes sense to capitalize off it and Wayne fans should realize that.
