Welcome back for another Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire update video. In this video, I will be talking about HBO's new Game of Thrones Prequel Series about Aegon I Targaryen and his conquest of Westeros. Earlier today, The Hollywood Reporter announced HBO is developing another Game of Thrones spinoff series. The company is actively heating up its long-in-discussion with their Aegon’s Conquest idea.
HBO is partnering with Mattson Tomlin, an in-demand scribe who did uncredited work on Matt Reeve’s The Batman and is co-writing its upcoming sequel, The Batman Part II. Aegon’s Conquest is basically a direct prequel to the hit series House of the Dragon, telling the story of the Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros. The story follows Aegon I Targaryen, who conquered the continent of Westeros with his sister, Rhaenys and Visenya, and their dragons. Aegon successfully unified six of the Seven Kingdoms in just two years, with only Dorne able to successfully resist. HBO still hasn't confirmed this information. No scheduled release date has been announced. Stay tuned for more details! Thank for watching

Having Aegon's series filmed & shown later than the Dance of Dragons series is likely to do with the plot device of the dagger, and the prophecy on it. You can't have it as a 'surprise' reveal in House of the Dragon if you already saw it being made in a different show! As for success levels, I think the one for Jon- and indeed, any sequel series- will fall below what you might expect. This is for the simple reason that it will follow on in continuity from the mostly hated final season of GoT, or at least will be perceived to be doing so. The only chance such later set spin offs have is if GRRM finally releases Winds of Winter and Promise of Spring, and the series follows on from his resolution to the story, rather than DnD's.

Visenya wouldn't have used blood magic to make an heir or turn their legacy inside out to make Maegor king if she wasn't sure. Aenys being weak could have been ignored with the possibility of potentially suitable sons, especially if Maegor became hand. He was actually pretty good in a more supportive role before gunning for the throne. I'm so excited to see it played out and who they choose for the roles. Visenya is gonna be a tough role to fill.

to be honest House of the Dragon should had started with Aegon the conqueror, then give 2 or 3 seasons to every king/event till the end of their rule with Robert Rebellion. It's more than a century before HOTD so it's realistic that in that time frame there could've been some darker skinned people that married into the valeryons line to create the darker skin, thus leaving the possibility that Aegon was light skinned. @@starkiller6740 Aegon has to be light skin. Not all Velaryons were black. Corlys is because he is descendant from a line of sailors and sailors in Summer Isles are reknown. So it's most likely that he was mixed, becaudse his dad or so had a summer isles wife. There's also has to be a light skin velaryon line because we know that Jaehaerys mother is a Velaryon yet he is white in the show as we saw in the prologue (so his mother cannot be black nor can be his greatgranpas Rhaenys and Aegon), and the HoTD characters are white too, yet they marry among themselves.

I'd love to see the story of Aegon the Conqueror, and the Jon Snow one bc they would basically build the framework around the whole universe. Aegon the Conqueror had a vision about Aegon (Jon Snow) as far as I know? And by making the Jon Snow Sequel, they could finally "save" the ending of Got ... kinda. And make things right! Yes I would have rather seen the one about the long night. I was curious about how they were going to address the Azor Ahai thing. If they were going to do it the way it’s mentioned in the books with him having to put his blade through his womans heart etc or as the story just being a metaphor for something else. Could do something about Bloodraven. Would encompass parts of Blackfyre Rebellions, Dunk and Egg, Maester Aemon, Children of the Forest, Nights Watch and The Wall, maybe Lands of Always Winter and such. And, of course, ties into Bran and GOT. Have to admit that GRRM concocted a remarkable world. And the actors who have played some of these parts have added to it (GRRM supposedly told Paddy Considine that he preferred Considine's "King Viserys" to his own "King Viserys"). Anyway, just a thought

I had high hopes for the 'Snow' sequel. Its been nearly 2 yrs (June 22) since HBO intentionally 'leaked' info about it on the internet. This was two months before the premier of HOTD, no doubt to re-ignite the fan base and gauge the response. Despite GRRM's help, approval, & blessings, HBO has found fault with the 'Snow' sequel. I was pleased to learn that Kit & Sophie have been cast in an upcoming period piece set against the backdrop of The War of the Roses. Many GoT fans are excited. It's bound to be a financial success. I hope HBO is paying attention.

Aegon and his sister wives is the most compelling story for me - how the kingdom was created and what exactly happened as they all refer to the 'great lie we all tell ourselves' and I want to know what went down! I cant imagine any series apart from Robert's rebellion gripping the interest of audiences without dragons especially after GOT and HOT doing such a fantastic job of animation of these incredibly powerful and terrifying creatures

What would be a cool way to tell the mini-stories would be to have someone in the Citadel narrating from books and explaining the stories to an acolyte or lording.

Giving the fans what they want would be to fix season 8 with a proper sequel, or a remake of the ending. This show and HOTD don't matter, they all lead to the same horrible ending of GOT.

Henry should play Robert in Robert's rebellion. He's almost as big as book Robert, and he has the size to be imposing with that antlered helmet.Just bucking ish up and creating babies everywhere he goes, while giving Aryes his fury.

Episode 1: 2 hour long episode with Valyrian freehold fighting the ghiscari, showing Valyria the Targeryens leaving for dragonstone ending in the doom. Episode 2 should be Aegon planning and entering Westeros and end with harrnhal burning, final episodes should be Dornish resistance, and the construction of kings landing and the kings guard. Episodes between 2 and last episodes are the other kingdoms being conquered.
