I have lived through 2 of the most successful coaches for the Crimson Tide . The late Coach Bear Bryant and now Nick Saban. He has definitely left a positive mark! Happy retirement, Coach 🎉

When we hired Saban, I said, he didn't come to Bama to leave the 2nd best coach we ever had and people said I was crazy.....wish him the best, I can't even be upset at the losses anymore. Looking forward to the next era. Lightning has struck us twice, just a matter of time until the 3rd time. Standard at Bama: GOAT.

Honestly I don't know if I'm more thankful or angry. I noticed when so many hit the portal that something was amiss. Then, when he didn't follow up on a replacement for Kevin Steele, it all makes sense now. Obviously I'm very thankful for the years of success, but a lot of players just committed to bama to be coached by him (Julian Sayin' for example). Why wait till today? Why not do it last Tuesday morning immediately after the Rose Bowl. I really think if he had just hung in there 1 more year that he would've won that last title that he was wanting.

Uh, it's common courtesy and standard protocol to wait until after the championship game (or the Super Bowl for NFL coaches) for major retirement announcements to keep from sucking up all the media attention and making yourself the main story in the sports world. The game just happened Monday. And of course he would want to tell the team first, not have them find out from social media, and I'm sure this was their first time all back on campus and meeting together this year. And what difference does it make? A ton of people were going to decommit no matter when he did it. Committing to a school means nothing to players these days anyway.

I don't blame him for retiring. Pay to play has taken over college football and is going to ruin it. Also, I wouldn't want to coach this generation of kids. They don't listen for anything, especially tough coaching. Along with Nick Saban retiring from college football, I probably will, too. It's turning too much into the NFL. Thank you, coach Saban, for all the years of hard work and dedication! Enjoy retirement and don't pull a bear Bryant and die on us too early! We'd like to see you enjoy life a little after the stress you have had to deal with.
