Just found your channel and enjoy your contents what are some good books to understand the sweet science. Like how you refer to the punch by their numbers. Never heard it explained that way. Going to subscribe to your Patreon as well.

Much appreciated! I actually never read a boxing book. 1-jab, 2- cross, 3-lead hand hook, 4-back hand hook, 5-lead hand uppercut, 6-back hand uppercut. That number system is common but it isn’t universal. Different gyms/trainers may differ

This channel has helped me recognize the pros and cons of rhythm, and breaking it, across many combat sports. Jordan Burroughs just won his 7th gold medal (worlds + Olympic) in wrestling in September. I was watching the match again and it’s rhythm and angles it’s not just pure raw strength as one from the outside would see. His opp was From Iran and they are known for a vicious under-hook game. Opp was on a vertical movement rhythm trying to catch Jordan coming in - dropping his weight down then up, down up, down - burrows shoots - opp is in his pattern of moving up now thus he can’t immediately drop his weight again - score. Using his own rhythm against him plus great timing - was cool to see and recognize more from analyzing boxing

How'd I know Floyd would have the most impressive showing. That shit blew my mind and I watched that fight a dozen times. Boots is super freaking nice man! Props to the OG Foreman, and Ward was a technical monster.

When I watch this video I think of Mikey garcia, he always beats his gloves together before he shoots a punch. Spence figured that out that's why he was able to always break his rhythm

How in the hell did Mr. Hagler close that distance?
@BoxingGems
@BoxingGems 3 жыл бұрын
HAGLER’S signature was the leaping jab. His pre slipping rhythm allowed to slip, load and counter with the leaping jab. That rhythm also allowed him disguise the lead back hand and surprise his opponent.
