Breaking Terraria with infinite summons... Continuing with our crazy max setup series, today I thought we'd push the limit today and see just how insane Terraria can become with infinite summons! Of course, with us first starting off maxing out what can be achieved in vanilla, then descending into the chaos of removing this summoner cap all together... Enjoy!

Summoner has always been my favorite. The choices between slots and damage usually always comes up if im playing summoner. And its ALWAYS choose the slots. Be it for sentries or not. Just having more sources of dps on the screen is so nice.

*TECHNICALLY* more damage is always (Well, usually) better after you hit five or six slots (assuming you are NOT using a weapon like Desert Tiger, or Blade Staff) because of immunity frames…

I feel like you should have brought up how spiders work, because they also use slots in a unique way, because each spider only takes up 3 fourths of a slot.

according to the wiki, spiders now take up a full minion slot each as of 1.4

Spiders however have Universal I-Frames that prevent other spiders of the same Sprite from stacking DPS. The Vampire Frog doesn't stack DPS past 2 Summons. The Stardust Dragon damage curve decrease by 50% after 3 summons. I like to mix 2Lunar Portals, 2 Rainbow Crystals, and 10 Terraprismas, or 7 Stardust Cells and 3 Stardust Dragon Summons ('getfixedboi' Legendary Mode Run, in which you can't get the Terraprisma). With the Terraprisma, Lunar Portal, Rainbow Crystal, and Kaleidoscope, I can potentially exceed 12000 single target DPS, although I haven't mashed all those weapons together yet, I have hit 11000 DPS, and even 23000 Multitarget DPS. The Summoner is absolutely the best class in my eyes.

Honestly, I typically have one of the Old One's Army sentry boosters in my accessory slots, as it does increase minion damage by 10% while giving another sentry, which is amazing!

I was about to comment about wanting an uncapped sentry summon and see the Lunar Portal and then I saw the glory at the end of the video. It is exactly what I was hoping for. The Death Star has nothing in comparison to these space lasers.

I don't play as summoner but I still use summons as passive damage.. can't wait to incorporate these into my arenas.. soon to beat Wall of flesh for the first time and enter hardmode.. Am a range or mage player most of the time but seeing that a build that has an endgame armor set only having 38 defense feels wrong ngl. I know its low because its summoner and you can just focus on dodging if your not focusing on whips and stuff but still feels weird.

I wonder how infinite summons would break certain Calamity weapona. Like Abandoned Slime Staff for instance. Since the way it works is that it consumes your remaining slots, dealing more damage the more slots are consumed.

This reminds me of something. Its a really niche class idea, but with mounts counting as summons, and jousting lances getting stronger based on melee, the idea of a 'Cavalier' class comes to mind. How strong is melee+Lance/Melee+summoner, and how viable is it?

Interestingly to me, due to the way terraprisma ai works, it's really bad at killing tons of enemies because it has to return/slow down before attacking again. Minions like the stardust dragon, star cells, and sharknados seem to scale much better with many copies and many enemies.

The Terraprisma is a bit tripped up in that sense. The Stardust Dragon is infuriating to have entirely. The Stardust Cell can be slow in the uptake. Mix all 3, and you need to get rid of the Stardust Cell. Remove the Terraprisma, and you shot yourself in the foot. Remove the Stardust Dragon, and you need a new freelance summon.

I would suggest using one stardust dragon slot as well, because it actually summons with 4 segments (or something like that) and afterward has technically diminishing returns, plus it has a different kind of ai and attack pattern with could help with diverse groups of enemies
