I call BS. If she’s your wife then she has status. If she has status then she has papers. If she has papers then she can come and go freely. I know these things. My wife is also not a US born citizen. You’re doing something wrong or you’re lying.

She didn't have documentation that her son's father relinquished his rights and then had a lung virus. We're looking at March -April now

Were you also there during the interview? Did she present photos of you two together? Letters, emails? Was she able to answer correctly personal questions about you (i.e. what is your profession or what state do you reside in)? You can always hire an attorney specializing in immigration laws.

This isn't what US immigration should look like either. Why not move to the Philippines to be with your wife and stepson? Does your wife and stepson have advanced degrees or have something unique to offer the US? What happens if there is a divorce? Can you guarantee that we won't be paying your possible ex-wife social security and Medicare costs? Why put the burden of risk on US tax payers? I personally know a sad, lonely man that bought a wife from Thailand, his name was Tony - she had two children of her own that were brought over to the US after their international wedding. US schools were burdened with her two ESL students. Soon after he financed a flower shop for her she divorced him and he found himself single again and broke at 60yo. He's on SSDI and Medicare. Don't be a Tony. In a selfish attempt to fulfill your love life you exploit your citizenship to bring economic migrants to the US. Just because it is allowed doesn't make it right.
