How To Stand Out in a Real Estate Interview // So, if you’ve gotten to the interview stage for a real estate new job opportunity, you’ve already beat the odds, and in most cases, at that point, you’ve made it further than about 98% of other job candidates.
According to Glassdoor, job postings receive about 250 resumes on average, and out of that number, only about 4-6 candidates will be brought in for an interview.
And this is great news for you if you’ve made it to the interview phase, because you know that the company is already interested in what you have to offer based on what they see on paper, but that still means that you likely have 3-5 other people, who the company also likes based on what they see on paper, to beat out for the position.
So in this video, let’s break down four ways to stand out in a real estate interview, even with similar experience levels to your peers, and how to maximize your chances of landing an offer, every time you go through this process.

Along with your pro-forma point, having the confidence and understanding to walk the recruiter through one of your case studies goes a long way. Especially if it’s your first full-time position.

Sorry my question isn’t to do with this video. But.. if you’re considering taking a buyout on estate property, and some of the properties (land) have been leased for 99years do you add the value of the leased lands to get an accurate estimate?

During the small chat phase, avoid any commitments. If you do make any commitments- follow thru- even if you don't get the job.

Hey Justin, Would you mind making a video on how to find information that maybe useful to real estate financial models that maybe difficult to find when you don't when to shell out a hefty sum for the expensive market research sites such as CoStar?

Hi Justin, if the hiring manager asks, that in a scenario you have 4 different property types (retail, industrial, office, multi-family) over 4 cities (Say NY, LA, San Francisco and Detroit) how would you decide which ones you buy vs sell? Could you walk me through how you would make that decision in an interview setting?

Hey Alonso, at a high level, I'd use the same method I talk through in this video around choosing an investment thesis - link here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXvLmY2Jr5KDZ9E
