My money's on Kass' teacher being the fortune teller. Why? Because how else could he have known all those songs in advance which he taught to Kass to help Link in the future?
@NintendoBlackCrisis6 жыл бұрын
I had someone else bring that up as well. It intrigued me because the songs are sung as "riddles" and fortunes within games/film tend to have that "rhyming/riddle" feel. Not much else though. Also one thing that may debunk that idea is this Quote from Kass: "He would *seek* the songs of the hero who sealed the Calamity away in an age past..."
@clayton28476 жыл бұрын
@@NintendoBlackCrisis in my humble opinion, no because Kass states that his teacher cared very much for Zelda and felt horrible after seeing Link fall at fort Hateno, then went to find the stories and clues to find the shrines that help the hero. Specifically the unfinished songs about the DLC shrines. Forgive me if I'm mistaken but I dont see that as a possibility.
@NightshadeDt6 жыл бұрын
It definitely feels more likely than the Queen- not that I suppose it couldn't be her, but it would be bad writing on Nintendo's part given the diaries. I always assumed it was his teacher, but when people suggested it could've been a Yiga, I liked the idea of that, if only because it would have meant they actually did stuff.

@ChaoticHoly5 жыл бұрын
Half-baked thought I just had, but indulge me a moment (this is a long one, folks). First, I don't believe that "Queen Hyrule" was murdered. If she were, *someone* would've said/written it, instead of stating that she "died suddenly" and such. The King would've written it. Zelda would've stated it. Even one of the residents of Hyrule would've mentioned it. Typically, when someone is said to have died "suddenly and(/or) unexpectedly", it means they took ill and rapidly died from fever/etc. or died in an unexpected accident (like falling from a horse and snapping their neck). But then, I had another thought. A curse. While Zelda II states that, after the princess was cursed (not the curse I'm bringing up...Zelda loves curses), an order was given to name every female born into the Royal family "Zelda". This idea is far older story-wise as the first known Zelda (Skyward Sword) existed likely millennia before, and every major princess since was named "Zelda". It's arguable that either only a few Princesses were unlucky enough to be named Zelda just before the **it hits the fan, or (more likely) every female born in the Hyrule Royal family was named Zelda even before Zelda II. Why do I bring this up? To make a point before I make my theory. Demise. Demise cursed himself, Link and Zelda (Hylia reborn) to an endless cycle of reincarnation and war. While Link wasn't always descended from the previous Hero of "X" (see Wind Waker), Zelda IS. Just as every female born into the Royal family is named Zelda (likely since Skyward Sword - the beginning of the Kingdom of Hyrule), I theorize first that every female born into the Royal family IS Goddess Hylia reincarnated. It's not uncommon for a royal family to claim divinity (see Japan & ancient Egypt to name two), and Breath of the Wild goes to great lengths to state straight-up that Queen Zelda possessed significant power which she was soon to train her daughter in as she too had inherited this divine power, so the idea that each female Zelda is Goddess Hylia reborn is not a stretch of the imagination at all. What is also of interest is that I cannot recall a single time where it's mentioned that the "monster" population started to increase BEFORE Queen Hylia's death in BotW. The Queen died unexpectedly, and THEN the monster population/attack frequency began to increase. I think even Wind Waker hinted at this, too, that Ganon reappeared above the sea after Zelda's pirate retainers had taken over caring for her after the passing of her mother. Theory. My theory is clear: Every Zelda has the potential to activate her power of the Goddess reincarnated. Just as the name "Zelda" is passed from mother to daughter, Hylia's divine power is passed from mother-to-child - not just at birth, but also as they age and via training, until the previous Queen Zelda has little-to-no power of Hylia left behind and the divine power is fully given to the Princess Zelda, who then passes this power on gradually to her own daughter, etc. When the curse kicks-in and it becomes clear that the cycle of war between the reincarnations of Demise's hatred, the Goddess Hylia, and the Hero is soon to begin again (or, when a seal holding back Ganon/Demise's wrath & power begins to weaken), whatever power of Hylia possessed by the mother (Queen Zelda) is immediately taken-in by the daughter (Princess Zelda) as per the demands of Demise's curse. The shock of losing the divine power of an actual Goddess all at once would likely kill the all-too-mortal queen "suddenly and unexpectedly", leaving Zelda with the full power of the Goddess Hylia but little knowledge on how to utilize it beyond instinct and genetic/spiritual memory. "Signs Point to Yes"? In no game has Zelda ever had a living mother. Again, BotW making certain to hammer into our heads that Zelda's mom possessed divine power herself before her sudden death. In EVERY game the Queen died sometime shortly after Zelda's birth, and Princess Zelda is the only one around capable of using Hylia's divine power. Conclusive proof? Not by a long shot. But given everything else I've pointed out, it seems far more likely than not.

Yeah its pretty good. While watching this video,it made me think of the power and mother to daughter relationship. Either this kingdom is a matriarchal monarchy, and every Queen will have a daughter. Or all/if not most of the kings are related to the Queen on the maternal side. Like with Carlos the 2nd of Spain. So the passing down of the Goddess power would not be interpreted. @ariablanche44516 жыл бұрын
It is possible that the fortune teller was correct, just not in the way everyone (including the fortune teller) expected. The fortune teller states that the power to defeat Ganon lies dormant underground. Everyone assumes this means the divine beasts. In actuality, this allows for the prophecy to come true. Link is the power that lies dormant underground that is able to defeat Ganon. But he only goes underground because of the King trying to fulfill the prophecy. It reminds me of all the Greek prophecies where people try to change the future but all they do is make the terrible future come true. Anyway, those are my two cents on another possible theory. Or...the fortune teller suspected the return of Calamity Ganon, did their own research and found the legends about the Guardians, then tacked on that bit as a solution within the prophesy despite it not being part of the original vision. And had the King not pulled Zelda from her research or forcefully tried to “cultivate” her (with a heavy dose of outright emotional abuse despite her working herself to exhaustion trying to do it his way! Holy CRAP!) Zelda might’ve found the Guardians’ and Beasts’ weakness and found a way to counteract it (or developed another strategy to keep them away from the Malice. The Beasts kinda didn’t need to be at the Castle to help take on CG.) I refuse to blame proactivity for the destruction when *finally* the other characters weren’t hohum about resigning to their fate idly, but chose to actively resist. That’s a GOOD thing (and about damn time). Nope. I’m gonna place the blame on His Moronic Majesty insisting on “the old ways” to the detriment of not only his daughter (she would’ve actually unlocked those powers sooner had she been allowed to pursue what she could and gained confidence that she COULD protect with unorthodox means (her powers did NOT unlock from the Springs, but her desperation to Protect others herself even if she died doing so)) And, you know. Her finding the flaw in the Guardians.

@@ngxinyue9902 There is no particular reason anyone should expect him to write about it in a diary. I think it actually would be fairly illogical to do so. I think the story teller was somebody that they only partially trusted. What if the fortune teller was the breath of the wild parallel of Astor? He’s some sort of seer with no backstory and supposedly a Hylian / Sheikah. Then the timeline split happens and in the age of calamity timeline he turns evil and works with the Yiga clan, while in the breath of the wild timeline something unknown happens, it could be that he just suddenly died for any reason, or he was banished from the kingdom because of his odd power. Another idea is that when the cutscene said the only way to oppose ganon was underground, that could possibly mean the queen as she was the only one to have her power awoken at that time, and she died so she could’ve been buried? I think that the ancient sheikah from 10k years ago are descendants from the barbarian tribe in the faron region. Basically the bananas grow in faron, and we see that the Yiga and Maz Koshia are all obsessed with the bananas. kinda weak but whatever. I think that they were thriving in the faron region but once they started making metal weapons, they had to flee from farosh and all the lightning there. They fled up north into necluda, where they were going to live their lives like they used to in faron, but being so close to the hylians meant that they were banished of their old ways and made to live with the technology. Some of the sheikah weren't happy about that though, and formed the yiga clan. The yiga clan was a group that wanted to kill all the hylians, so the sheikah could live in peace again. Soon after they split from the sheikah, the first calamity struck. they saw how devestating it could have been, but it was stopped by the hylian champion. After that they devoted their entire lives to killing the hero, since they didn't know he would be reborn. after 10,000 years of failed assassinations, they had to make a new plan. They thought that the guardians and the divine beasts built 10,000 years ago in the aide of the champions could help them. They thought that if they assassinate the princess so she couldn't stall the calamity, ganon would take control of the mechanical creatures. There was a fortune teller in disguise of a hylian telling everyone to dig up the machines, tricking everyone into their plan. after the failed assassinations of the princess because of the hero, they thought of a plan to ressurect ganon after he was defeated, using the thunder helm from the gerudo. Before they could steal it though, the calamity struck again. They knew it was too late. They watched Vah Naboris charging up its lazer. but before it could fire, the malice took over. they saw the blue turn into red, and everything seemed to click. Looking north, they saw the big bird covered in malice. they saw 5 red pillars rise out of hyrule castle and red beams everywhere. They knew now that their goal was complete. for 100 years they were at rest. No one bothered with them, and they didn't bother with anyone in their disguises. Until they heard that the hero was back. They made it their goal to kill the hero again, and sent out troops to kill him. Nobody did though. They took the thunder helm in order to ressurect ganon if the hero comes back. The leader of the group, Master Kohga, was killed by the hero and he took the thunder helm. With no leader, the clan spun out of control. people leaving, people killing each other, just a total mess. Only a few stayed, who I think would now be under the rule of the yiga that was blackmailing Dorian. This is how I think the next game is going to start. Inbetween the events of botw and this next game the new yiga steal the thunder helm again. This new leader takes off his mask and he reveals to be vaati (not really but it would be really cool) and they ressurect ganon with malice and the thunder helm. sorry for hella long comment

That could be! Some people have theorized that Ganon is the spirit of evil, reincarnated BUT instead of the Gerudo form he usually has, this time he has strayed too far away from anything mortal. Also, since by now the sequel trailer has come out, we know Ganondorf is sealed away down somewhere. What if Ganondorf was sealed there for thousands upon thousands of years? His spirit may have *left his body* instead of staying there, locked up for such a long time. Said spirit formed Calamity Ganon. Because of this, he isn't at his full strength. So, if he's not at his full power, Link doesn't need to use the Master Sword. In itself, the sword is only a tool, while Zelda's power is the only thing absolutely necessary to seal him away.

If anything I think the King killed the queen, she wanted to tell Zelda but never got the chance because the king didn’t want anyone knowing (unless those who knew) what they were doing to Ganon. I also had a theory that it was Midna holding down calamity Ganon from the twilight realm but that’s very loose!

So I am playing through BOTW again for the first time in a couple years. I have watched tons of theory videos on it... (all of yours and a number of others). In any case, this go through I decided to follow the game a little more linear than in my past play throughs. And because of it I now realize the path to Kakariko has a lot of teaching shrines like the great plateau. They are more about getting used to the game mechanics etc, and it is pretty cool how helpful they are if you have never played the game before... So I just got to the Kakariko shrine and realized it was the first test of strength shrine. I thought that was pretty cool and a good way to introduce some new fighting mechanics... But what I hadn't realized was the monks words at the trial completion. "Your triumph over the the test of strength subverts a prophecy of ruin. From the ashes of hyrule, a hero rises." And... wait a minute... the prophecy is mentioned here? And yes, Hyrule is in ashes... but the monk shouldn't know that... And it got me thinking based on the placement... the fall of the hero was predicted, and the "test of strength" mentioned here isn't talking about the shrine (which is exceptionally easy) but the test of strength that the hero survives resurrection. Meaning the shieka prophecised the events in botw and set up the shrines (including the Shrine of Res) to fix it. But the question is, is this part of the fortune tellers prophecy as well? or are there two prophecies?

Because of the botw 2 trailer, that quote “the only way to defeat calamity beneath the ground” definitely is referring to ganondorf beneath Hyrule castle, I have no doubt about that

Taking with the idea of no one believing in a failure of a princess, it is possible that maybe Zelda could have told an advisor, or close friend, her fears, and that hylian took it seriously enough to actually give enough reason to make Rhoam act in the way he did... or you know- a random Wind Fish could have inspired the would-be prophet

It is so simple, Zelda was the fortune teller and a member of the Yiga clan. She killed the only one who could foresee her plan, her mother, and she sabotaged the plans to fight Ganon. Zelda put her personal knight, Link, in harms ways at every opportunity she had. In a final effort after finally exhausting Link, she had him stripped and locked up for 100 years and hide the master sword from him. She then returned to Hyrule castle to help resurrect Ganon.

Needless to say It was Astor from AoC it's obvious I mean, he named the Possessed Terrako Harbinger Ganon, and a harbinger is exactly what a fortune teller is. Too bad age of calamity didn't exist publicly 2 or so years ago...
@nightdreamhub91275 жыл бұрын
In 14:59 look at the hylian he has a phone of some kind so that means the sheikha had use of technology but only used it for guardians and this also means that the shiekha slate was made by a hylian who liked researching and that hylian was born way before robbie and pura. That hylian reasearched about the shrines and made such a device that could activate the shrines. The next thing you're wondering is how did zelda and the others get in hand of the slate. Well its because in the cut scenes it says the calamity is rising again. That means there was a calamity way before this calamity. The hylian who had the slate was killed or just died and the slate was burried in the ground somewhere. The thing that I am really confused is that you all know pura was turned into a youth girl but how did robbie turn in to a youth. Is robbie just a dwarf? or was he also turned into a youth? If you like my comment and theory and my question pls like.😆

Maybe this is stupid but I've often thought the words "the power to oppose it lies dormant beneath the ground" might actually be referencing Link in the shrine of resurrection. Prophecies in media are not always linear and are often self-fulfilling. The fortune teller may have foreseen that the one thing capable of opposing Ganon would "lie dormant in the ground" and assumed that it was currently in the ground when they had the vision. The kingdom assumed that referred to the sheikah tech, dug it up and that ultimately led to Ganon seizing control of it, leading to Link being injured and placed in the shrine of resurrection where he would sleep (lay dormant) for 100 years before awakening and going on to defeat Ganon. So the power to defeat the Calamity really WOULD be something that had been dormant in the ground, however it just wasn't at the time of the prophecy.

I think by “the power to oppose it lies dormant in the ground” it actually means the shrine of resurrection.

i just realized that when zelda makes the journal entry you mentioned in one point of the video about her having a dream, it sounds a lot like the beginning of botw, when link woke up. Zelda writes in her journal that she was "in a place consumed by darkness" with "a lone woman" who was gazing at her, "haloed by a blinding light". This is really similar to the cutscene that plays when link wakes up. The screen is dark with the only source of light being the shining ball of light in the center. She also writes, "Her lips spoke urgently", which could relate to how zelda spoke to link in the cutscene, with her words being urgent pleads for link to wake up, to open his eyes. This dream that zelda had could have been a weakened form of her premonition powers since at this time her power had not yet awoken. Also, i wonder if link spoke to link every day, trying to get him to wake up, or if she somehow knew exactly when link was gonna wake up and talked to him then.

Another theory could be that the fortune teller was the Great Deku Tree. It's implied that the royal family had ties with the Koroks and the Deku Tree in the lore and the Deku tree is old and wise enough to see the warning signs. Not to mention, in the memory, the Deku tree didn't seem surprised of Zeldas plan nor concerned that she will be going alone to Hyrule Castle even when she is needed to fight the calamity with the chosen hero. Also interesting to note regarding the prophecy, it states that the power to seal Calamity Ganon away is sealed deep underground, this could indicate Ganondorfs corpse as is shown in the BOTW 2 sequel, but it's unlikely as Nintendo didn't really know if this game was going to be successful enough for a sequel. But what's interesting is that the Shrines are deep underground and help the hero in his quest, and one just so happens to be buried right next to the Deku Tree.

What if the Queen of Hyrule predicted her own death, but couldn’t tell anyone. Or, what if the thing buried in the ground weren’t the Divine Beasts, but the fortune teller predicting the Queen’s death and burial, and in Zelda’s moment of need, the soul of the Queen, buried underground, gave her power to Zelda

What if the fortune teller wasn't talking about the divine beasts and guardians but was actually talking about Link when he was in the Shrine of Resurrection? Think about it. He was dormant beneath the ground and he was needed to seal the darkness. I guess you could say this logic also applied to the Master Sword, but as NintendoBlackCrises said, the Master Sword isn't needed to complete the game and beat Ganon. Like if you agree!

Admin 2000, yes I think your theory could be a possibility. The dormant power being Link makes much more sense than the master sword, because although its the hero's chosen weapon, it doesn't hold any specific and special power. Link was the power. Without him, Hyrule would not have been saved, so your theory really make sense
@zbhype68364 жыл бұрын
14:06 although this sounds pretty dumb I think that it was the queen and Zelda couldn’t hear her voice because of a lack of power (because they were given to Zelda) it’s definitely a high chance that this isn’t the case as she’s well dead and a spirit and the spirits of the kind and champions have no problem communicating but it could be applied vice versa somehow and in the end it could just be a lack of power within both the queen and Zelda but it’s just a thought of mine

Hey Chris i have a question on the fold the fourth minute and seventeen seconds on the Picture the Guardians actually red taht can't be in this time because they aren't under the control of ganon at there
@MrSamthefan4 жыл бұрын
I find it more likely that, like you stated in another theory, the power that lies dormant beneath the ground actually refers to Ganondorf buried beneath the castle. And in order to divert the attention away from him, the Yiga used the possible Sheika-costumed spy to plant the idea in the mind of the royal family that it is actually the guardians and sacred beasts who are the power that lie dormant beneath the ground, not Ganondorf himself. It'd make a lot of sense. If the royal family began to assume that they would have to get rid of Ganondorf's body, and the presumed power source of ancient energy, then they Yiga clan's plans would've been completely fooled. They would have to come up with a countermeasure to prevent that. So although the intentions of the fortune themselves were pure, the words were twisted in a way that eventually still caused the second coming of Calamity Ganon.

The only problem with the theory that the fortune teller was a Yiga that I can find is that, to my understanding, the yiga have only existed SINCE the great calamity only 100 years ago. I seem to remember the guards outside Impa's house saying something to the effect of the shieka broke apart after the calamity into two tribes and that the good shieka wanted to forsake the technology that allowed Calamity Ganon turned against them choosing simpler more quiet lives in kakariko village. The bad shieka or more appropriately he yiga didn't want to be hunted down and didn't want to forsake the tech and so swore allegiance to ganon. Correct me if I'm wrong here but I thought that was what the guard said, you know the one who is obsessed with the cuco chicken things or whatever.

So I have a theory, what is the fortune teller is just a normal fortune telling guy (sorry if I didn't word that right, but you know what i mean) And gave them their warning, and blah blah blah... But have you every heard of the butterfly effect? Well it's when one small things causes a huge chain of bigger and more important events. And lets play along with the theory that If you change one small thing form the past, you could change the future entirely, hence the butterfly effect. SO maybe the fortune teller saw that the champions were going to die, and couldn't warn them about the blights in the Divine Beasts because it would set off a chain reaction. For instance, maybe if he did warn them, the champions survived, but Zelda or Link died, and Hyrule fell. Or maybe the champions survived, but zelda never awoken her sealing power, because the diving beasts weakened gannon, and stopped Link from getting hit with the blast from the guardian. idk, just something I thought of! I hope you see this!!!

What if “lies dormant beneath the ground” has a dual meaning- and is also in reference to the BOTW Zelda and Link not being alive yet? As in their bodies/spirits are buried and have not resurrected yet? It’s a stretch but that popped into my brain.

What if the queen isn’t really dead. Would she not have been there along with the king and champions at the end of the game if she was? Considering Zelda completed her task and “Gannon” was defeated, I believe she should have been shown there too... if the queen was really dead at least. Food for thought ;p

This idea just dawned on me. What if Zelda’s mother was the fortune teller, she was close to the Gerudo... what if she was a version of twin rova working to resurrect Gannon the whole time. Her initial attempt failing like in seasons/ages but will succeed in the second attempt - BOTW2? Could explain why the details of her death and absence at the end of BOTW?
@MaraJule5 жыл бұрын
It's been a while since I've played aLttP, but I would guess the fortune teller much more akin to Agahnim from aLttP. If I remember correctly, Agahnim was this strange magic user who ingratiated himself with the royal family (like Gannondorf did in OoT) while he carried out his plans to resurrect his alter ego Ganon. Agahnim was likely something of a fortune teller, seeing as how he dresses similar to the updated sprites from aLBW. And both games have fortune tellers as NPCs. And there are the parallels of Agahnim wearing a sheikah-like crest (also displayed on the floor when he sends Zelda to the dark world). The parallels between Agahnim who came into the royal family's trust, then took over/possessed the soldiers of Hyrule castle are similar to how the guardians were possessed. And defeating them did nothing to defeat the actual dark king. Though in this instance you fight the beast first and not the man. It opens up the possibility of there being a dark world version of Hyrule if they run that parallel. Which would be fantastic.
