We got custody of my austic step son 3 years ago. He was not thriving at his old school and had some anxiety and behavior issues. Now 3 years later he is thriving and is starting high school next year. I honestly believe it was the kindness and structure he got from his new school and his dad and I that made him thrive. Every one says he is a different kid. Way to go!! Congratulations Bree!!

I adore the sass of Bree. What I love is that you always let her express her style no matter what. Her little face….is just so happy. ❤️it’s warming to see how much you’ve changed their lives. Though I have no idea what a residential treatment facility for kids is…I had no idea you’d had that much trouble getting her into school and it jus5 goes to show schools should not judge until they get to know.

A residential treatment facility in NY state is the strictest form of Special Education. Children enrolled in Special Ed programs are either in a regular classroom and go to Resource Room at their regular school, District-Based which is a Special Ed classroom in their regular school, Center-Based which is the whole school is Special Ed which is where I taught, and Residential Treatment for those whose behavior and/or disabilities preclude being placed elsewhere.

Congratulations Bree!!! I'm so proud of you. 🥳 Middle School generally has a broader assortment of electives and extracurricular activities. Like choir, sports, home economics, bigger libraries, *THEATER* , dance groups. My school had a wood workshop class and I made a lamp, pencil holder and pen, it was completely new to me but I loved it and continue creating using wood 13 years later. You will learn so much more about yourself and will find new activities you enjoy doing. It's so much fun! If you enjoy reading; Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries, and pretty much all of Raina Telgemeier's novels are great reads. 😃

I hope you know Yours and Josh's Love and patience is what's helped them. I wish my teachers and mom would have known about ADHD back in my day and knew how to treat their students and child that had it. I am SO lucky I have a husband that Loves me and understands ADHD and me and my doctor helped me with the right medication. I still have the anxiety, depression, ADHD but I know what is going on and what to take. And I Love you for sharing the different ways to handle things.

So sweet! She actually looked like you in the thumbnail, I got so confused for a second. 😂 I live over in the Greece/Charlotte area of Rochester. We didn't have a ceremony like Bree did (this was back in 2005-2006). My teacher took pictures throughout the year and on the last day gave everyone a little disc that was a compilation of all the photos from the year with the same song you used. Had me feeling nostalgic for a minute. 😅 Make sure to tell her to enjoy this summer and her new middle school! 6-8 grade goes by so quickly.

Hey Alicia !!! First and foremost ... CONGRATS BREE!!! You can do this and More. Never forget that you can do anything that you set your mind into!!. This coming from someone with ADHD that no one believe that I could do much and with 41 years old I have 3 degrees ( highschool, University bachelor in law degree & lawyer ) plus a foreign language. Never let anyone tell you can't do stuff but at the same don't overpressure yourself that isn't good either.
