I was going to film a little update today again, but Storm Darragh is hitting us hard and its miserable out there! But the cocoons are all starting to hatch, and I have another big load of cocoons ready to harvest. Also, little bonus, keep a close eye on the bottom cocoon around the 9:40 part of the video, can see a baby worm moving around! ❤

fan of the main channel here, seems like the rebrand was a good call considering i got a rec to this without any prior thing with vermiculture

I'm glad you found it! Hope you enjoy the content here as well. I know it isn't for everyone, but it's certainly another passion of mine I wanted to share!

You have yourself a healthy crop of worms growing there too Shaun! Do you ever place a couple worms in your containers during the growing season? -Bob...

Great video bro! Can you please add a link for the sifters. I will be starting my worm 🪱 bins next week. How many worms are good to start with?
@VermiChump9 күн бұрын
Not sure where you live. If you are in the UK, check Screwfix (Apollo 1/4" Mesh Riddle 370mm, Apollo 1/2" Mesh Riddle 370mm). But I actually found another one that was a little cheaper but actually works much better for my setup: geni.us/Sieve A pound of worms will be a great start. Good luck with your new worm bin.

They are my "checking on the chillies and worms" shoes 😎 Bought two pair of them because they were half price. So will be in dashing pink/red crocs for a little while 👠

Hi Shaun! I've been enjoying your new channel a lot so far. And adopted the first tips already. Unfortunately there is no link to the mentioned sieve in the description. And the link that is there points to a whole bunch of shredders. Which one do you advice? How many sheets does it handle and and which size comes out? Would a P4 do? Despite my small worm bin, I'm so sick of cutting cardboard by hand!

Hi you said you keeping a temperature of around 20c for your breeding worms 🪱 are you increasing the temperature to 27c to hatch out the eggs?
@VermiChump8 күн бұрын
I don't increase the temperature. They will hatch at temperatures of 18'C to 25'C. So Warner would be better but not entirely necessary.

What kind of worms are those?
@VermiChump9 күн бұрын
They are mostly Red Wigglers (Eisenia fetida)

I know it's entirely too late for this time, but you might try a light harvest next time. It might be faster and less tedious for you. You have some beautiful monster worms giving you some big cocoons. I hope you get multiple wisps from each one.👍🏼🪱😄
