For others, please only breed if you know the bloodlines, and they are solid. Also, you can now use a deslorelin implant to bring jills out of season rather than either a vassy hob or an intact one.

Thank you for sharing this amazing breeding video! Ferrets are illegal in California where I live so the ones that I have owned I have had to smuggle in from Arizona or Nevada. I have bred one of my Jill's once and out of the four or five kits only one survived, the Jill actually ate several. Your ferrets are and amazing and beautiful looking creatures and I have watched a few videos of the ferreting process, which I've never personally witnessed live but it's cool to watch the videos. A lot of work goes into to it.

Good question Libby ,so a Hob is neauted , I’m not sure if vets only castrate or vasectomise, most animals I have seen for males is castration sadly be it horses dogs cats and I’m guessing ferrets to , it would be nice to know the answer to this which way vets go about it.

Hi .. Can u pls make video on how to make breeding setups of ferrets. Both fr jills and hobs ??
@fishmut7 күн бұрын
Why ? You just put the Jill’s in with the male your breeding her with into his cage , from start of swelling wait 2 weeks then put her in with him each day for a few hours or half a day etc up to you , I put my Jill in with him for about 5 days unless you think the job is done , nothing special about mating ferrets , just my 2 cents worth. Ps this comment is for new readers to that might have that question or not sure about it as well. 👍

May I ask. Why did you separate the mum from them at 6-weeks old is there a particular reason they would be separated so young? All three of my jills have been mated yet the vulva does not seem to be getting any smaller.
@EastMidFieldsports Жыл бұрын
They are removed at 6 weeks to give the Jill a rest, by then the kits can eat & drink independently. Once mated it can take a week or two for the vulva to go down but in some cases it may not.
@Mouzle Жыл бұрын
@@EastMidFieldsports thank you ever so much for explaining that. One of my jills has been mated 4 weeks ago and her vulva is still swollen.
