Funny how depression leads you to depressing music and instead of making you more depressed it makes you feel understood...not alone.
@martijnf12597 жыл бұрын
I don't want to give away too much of my own situation, but I must say your remark is spot on. Listening to beautiful (depressing, emotional) music indeed makes you feel understood, and not even more depressed.
@DM121287 жыл бұрын
There's apparently a scientific reason for that.

your comment makes me feel I might be past my depression stage after divorce. but then again I've always been in love with music. and this music piece [cover of a not very happy tune earlier performed by the divine Liz Frazer] sounds awesome and uplifting to me now. so yeah. I wish you all the best.

Its Catharsis, living out emotions and reflect on it and integrate them into the conciouss sonit stops popping up grom the back of ones head and keeps bothering wich over time leads to neurotic behaviour and eventually even neurosis(Jung).

On the eve of my 44th birthday, and this came into my world. DCD a faint fixture of my high school days. 44, the age my father died. 44, the age of my maternal grandmother at my birth. The same Grandmother, who is very much all I have in this world. What a beautifully haunting surprise. May get through the next 44 hours just yet.

I hope that one day I will be lucky enough to see Dean Can Dance play and sing in Denmark. I have been listening to Dean Can Dance for many decades. When I had a cerebral hemorrhage it was Dead Can Dance that I listened to when I first wanted to hear some music after being in the hospital. Love and sadness united in music..

Pieśń do syreny Na unoszących, bezkształtnych oceanach Robiłem wszystko, by się uśmiechać Aż twoje śpiewające oczy i palce Przybliżyły mnie zakochanego do Twej wyspy A Ty śpiewałaś: „Żegluj do mnie, przypłyń do mnie Pozwól mi wziąć Cię w ramiona Oto jestem, oto jestem Czekam, by Cię objąć” Czy ja śniłem, że Ty marzysz o mnie?

Were you here when I was full sail? Now my foolish boat is leaning Broken lovelorn on your rocks For you sing Touch me not, touch me not Come back tomorrow Oh, my heart Oh, my heart shies from the sorrow Well I'm as puzzled as the newborn child I'm as riddled as the tide Should I stand amid the breakers? This is a wonderful rendition of the song. He didn't, however, worry much about being spot on with the lyrics. That's okay, and I assume your lyric here is trying to be what he sang in this live version. If, however, you want the original lyrics I've put them below. The differences are many, but not significant in a live performance besides "Were you hare when I was fox" (hare and fox - not here and flotsam, people get that from This Mortal Coil being unclear), and "I am puzzled as the oyster." (yup, oyster. Buckley changed the original Beckett word, then later switched back to the original "oyster" lyric.) Song to the Siren Long afloat on shipless oceans, I did all my best to smile till your singing eyes and fingers drew me loving to your isle, and you sang, Sail to me, sail to me, let me enfold you: here I am, here I am, waiting to hold you. Did I dream you dreamt about me? Were you hare when I was fox? Now my foolish boat is leaning broken, lovelorn, on your rocks, for you sing, Touch me not, touch me not, come back tomorrow. Oh my heart, oh my heart, shies from the sorrow. I am puzzled as the oyster, I am troubled as the tide: should I stand amid the breakers? Should I lie with death my bride? Hear me sing, Swim to me, swim to me, let me enfold you: here I am, here I am, waiting to hold you.
