Fill the channels with insulation. I used Rock wool, but I've seen others using spray foam. After that, go ahead and put a vapor barrier on top of it. Btw - the build is coming out very nicely. You pay great attention to detail and that'll definitely pay off! 😊 Lauren

If you find the powered steering stiff on your master. Just grease the joint on the engine side of the steering shaft. Mine drove much better after that.

@@BrendanExplores as the steering shaft from the steering wheel goes through the bulkhead into the engine bay there is a universal joint mine was rusty and made steering difficult. A brush with 2 foot long handle and some grease fixed it. On youtube there is a guy that replaced his steering pump and when that didn't work his steering rack only to find it was just this joint. Wish I had done it before I spent 3 months driving around Spain.

I'd advise you to get that Mapped up to 125 BHP. With the lower power output those Masters are awful on fuel once you go on any decent run. They just don't have enough power to get out of their own way. Money spent on mapping will be given back to you endlessly in better MPG over the course of its life with you.

@BrendanExplores I'm in two minds to get a van myself. Had a look around and checked online for insurance quotes to see how much it will be...my god! Even a 15yr old vauxhall vivaro is around £1300+ so I think I'll pass. Probably end up with a fiat doblo/citreon berlingo as it would be a daily driver but also a bed for weekends away etc.. I need to do something for next year as I had a relationship breakdown so now I'm single after 14yrd so I guess I don't need anything to big

Looking good with these updates mate 🙌🏼 With the channels, I'd say to put some of the loft insulation in there but I've heard not to overfill it too much so that you allow a bit of airflow in there too, same with the channels at the top of the sides where all those holes are too, just stuff some in where you can 👌🏼

Another informative vid Brandon, thankyou, it's coming on a treat! We've just bought out first campervan and it could do with a bit of re-jigging layout wise, but I wouldn't know where to start particulaly where the electrics are concerned.. Does coalition vans offer a service to reposition things?

I'm converting my vivaro 2020, but I've not a clue what solar panel to get on the roof, I will be running lights, small TV, and hob. Also what inverter would I need. And battery also. And a diesel heater. I've I missed anything out, please let me know. Thanks. Ps your vids are great 👍

@@Mark-nr4mg I got 2x 100w panels from Renogy on my roof and I would think that's about the same as what you could have on the vivaro 👍. I've actually got a whole series on my old Renault Trafic I converted which is the same van as a vivaro 🙂. It's in my playlists on my channel, it might help you 👍

Definitely saving a lot of money mate, a van that age/millage ready build would be 15-18k and I'm going to be well under that by the time the vans finished 🙂👍

Wait, your van is diesel, correct? If so, that's the big difference. Mine weighs in at 4,500+ lb. with a 5.7 litre gas engine.

Sounds like you're in the USA, Jerry. Sorry if I'm teaching you something you already know, but a UK gallon is 4.546L where as a US gallon is 3.785L. So, Brendan's van's probably getting somewhere around 25mpg US.

Fair point mate 👍 I appreciate your concern buddy. The panels aren't the most expensive in the world to be fair, think it was £170 for the 2 so not worth being nicked for the hassle of getting them off. But you never know in these times to be fair

I dont meen to be critical but ive never seen solar panels linked up with wires laying on the roof mate and cutting out the hole in the roof with an angle grinder is a very big NO NO !!!! the hot sparks landing on your paint work will damage the paint work let alone other vans next to it. when cutting out holes on any vans needs to be with a jigsaw , PERIOD!!!!!

I appreciate your opinion mate but I've seen on the roof after the install and everything is clean and tidy 👍. The cables used are UV protected and I was given the choice of using conduit. All in all it's a clean and tidy job in my opinion

21:14 Yep those cables are massive and should have gone inside you only need 6mm singles max and that is for 100m run so you could have used 4mm and your right heat from the grinder bubbles the paint and burns it looks crap and the cable is held on with sticky pads
