Congratulations man....good review....its your way of presentation that people like me appreciate. I think there are many people with huge music collection but they got no public following, you have a great way of presenting the stuff and the way you express those. You are a great orator my friend. Keep the good job up. Cheers from India 👍🏼👍🏼

Hey, no 'Sticker Shock' that's a very reasonably priced setup! I still have a turntable in my home office. It gets used rarely, but it really does bring back memories. There's something about the ritual of pulling a record out of it's sleeve and putting it on the deck. Plus I miss the artwork, the lyrics being on the dust liner, and of course, the joy that was a gatefold.

Impressive demonstration, Brendon. Reminds me of the very first time I listened to Side 4 of Genesis "Three Sides Live" on my turntable (which is made by Jensen, not RetroLife, and mine did not come with speakers, either.) Sounds like you got a good deal with this turntable. Glad you're satisfied by the sound quality. Looks like the kind of turntable a radio station would use to play vinyl. I know this because I used to be a college radio DJ nearly three decades ago.

That’s the beauty of a turntable, they hold up for a really long time unlike CD players which have more moving parts that can go wrong.

I still have my Pioneer system, most of which was purchased in 1983. I added a Pioneer CD player/burner in the 90's. I had an ION turntable which attached to my computer for several years but i was never satisfied with the sound quality although I did record some albums to the hard drive and burned discs off those files. The turntable died on me though and I've never replaced it. The Pioneer turntable still works fine although I did have to replace the belt.

I love the Pioneer systems. I’ve had a number of their products over the years and have always been impressed.

How amazing the company sent you a record player. Your channel is growing in success. I know you like CDs, but there are some great releases on Record Store Day. Many of the RSD records, only a limited number are pressed. I bought the Peter Gabriel Live Blood. It has some additional songs that are not on the 2011 CD. Only 5000 were pressed for RSD. I know it's getting harder to find CDS that you don't already have. This might be a great way to add some unique material to your collection. Plus it's another way to support independent record shops.
@BrendonSnyder2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was pretty excited to get the player as well. I do buy vinyl in general and especially on RSD when things are rare and only being pressed on vinyl. There is a lot of unique music only on vinyl and now I can enjoy it more.

Great! I'm also thinkin' about getting one of those all-in-one turntables for my ground floor (I have one upstairs hooked to an amplifier), something easy to move and use but I'm really worried about the sound and also if it's going to skip and jump a lot... What's cool is that you can generally hook those turntables to blubooth and boost the sound if needed... Enjoy! Cheers.

That certainly is a nice little system for the money. I figured that the speakers had to be Bluetooth and self-powered. I have a Rega turntable, also belt drive, which i run through an old 1985 Realistic receiver and two pairs of speakers, one JVC and one Philips. The nice thing about the wireless speakers is that you can place them wherever you want. With my turntable, if you want to change the speed from 45 rpm to 33, you have to actually take off the platter and move the belt physically to another spot on the little spindle. I don't often play 45's, so that's not really much of an issue.
@BrendonSnyder2 жыл бұрын
No these are wired speakers. I’m not a fan of Bluetooth speakers. But the position of the speakers was just for the video. This is not where the player will live.

What a great album to use for testing the new system. 'Stand Or Fall' is an absolute classic track. As far as the set up goes, I assume this is not the permanent place you're going to leave it ? Just in case you're not aware (apologies if you are as I don't want to teach you to suck eggs) but you will get a much better sound if you place the speakers further apart. Also, as they are very close to the turntable, when you crank up the volume the vibrations will affect the sound.

No this was just for filming.

Nice presentation Brendon . Turntable looks like an okay entry level for people just starting to get into vinyl . You might want to move your speakers away from the turntable and on a separate surface to avoid vibrations traveling through the tone arm . Now that you made a video for them , I guess SeeYing is believing 😂
@BrendonSnyder2 жыл бұрын
This is not the permanent spot for the record player. It was only positioned here and in this way for the video. That said, I’m just not concerned with those things. That’s getting into a whole other level that’s for audiophiles.

Me again with another question. I figured out my last issue. But The record player skips. No matter the record. Do I need a new needle? I made sure everything is level. Table it sits on and then the record player itself. I don’t know if maybe the needle got bent a little?

You spend quite a lot of money on records most of which, I guess, listen to rather rarely. Buy eg. Fluance 85 or a Pro Ject debut or X1. Get the best from your records. By the way: What is your stereo equipment? I think you have never showed it.

Brendon. I really feel disappointed. How is it that a person who loves music and spends a lot of money on cds and boxes has an average stereo? You lose half the information your cds want to give you. Similar situation is with Pete from Sea of Tranquility.
