It's such a pure joy to see a GS Adventure handled off road by talented hands. Your videos are great in general Brent, even the ones without the GS, but what I enjoy the most by far is to see that GS handled by HD.

What an absolute inspiration! Strap down, saddle up and take on an adventure! It's adventures like this that if you can't get out on (screw shift work, screw covid.), you can remember why you do it by watching one of these... Your production journey has come such a long way, thank you for doing what you do! These smaller rides are every bit as good as your campaign rides. I had to laugh as being a 1250GSA rider, it's quite often commented on that the bike has an amazing ability to make me giggle just as described! Traction off with plenty of power on tap... Yeah I'm giggling! Haha.

Wow what an awesome adventure. Definitely more of a dual sport ride than an ADV one, but that didn't stop old mate on the GSA and Kato. Well done to all, but they deserve an extra pat on the back.

Ha! Yes, that what you get when your rushing the export... I've trimmed it on KZbin so hopefully that will fix that little hiccup. Yes, it's the rides with dramas that tend to be the memorable ones. I"m enjoying your Great Northern series. I'm heading off to ride a BDR next week which will be fun.

Thanks - I was wondering about that track through to the kings Hwy - now I know there is a gate. Badja Forest is my back yard - great riding. The Big Badja Trig track has only been all the way to the top since the fires. You used to have to walk from the fire trail up.

I've ridden all through that area on a mountain bike a number of times. We don't go up the hills as fast, but the fallen trees don't cause as much hassle..😉 Mulloon Firetrail is a great road. You were on it until you turned off onto Bombay Firetrail I'm fairly sure. Maybe next time.

Another great story and video Brent. Appreciate the effort you put into the vids. Question; the fire damage on the trees was from when? And was there a noticeable absence of wildlife? [asking from the UK].
@brentbat2 жыл бұрын
Hey Andy This fire damage would have been from the huge fires we had around Dec 2019 / Jan 2020. There still seems to be plenty of wildlife around..., so I guess they have all found their way back over the years since. They are also pretty prolific breeders.

Hi Brent there might be an issue at 18.10 or thereabouts. My screen went black. There’s a bit of dialogue later on.
@brentbat2 жыл бұрын
Hey Martin, thx for that, I did a second export and must have left a bit of dialog on the timeline.... I've trimmed this now so that it finishes at the fade-to-black. (might take an hour or two for KZbin to update).

Hi There is some real good country to ride in including fire trails. I live in the Monaro and seem a lot of this area. Next time you should try get access to Chinamen trail via kyeban area. Have you explored the tinderry, jerangle Rd this will take to Cooma or Braidwood and Araluen? These are dirt Rd maintained by the couni but could be a challenge due to the recent rain making it more fun. Aldo
@brentbat2 жыл бұрын
Hey Aldo, do you have any gpx files you can share, I might plan some more trips down that way, I have hardly done any riding at all down South of Sydney.
@aldogiucci76012 жыл бұрын
@@brentbat done a lot of fire fighting down south You should try the western kyeban fire trial. You will need to seek permission to gain access gates could be locked very remote area. The other road are council maintain and should not an issue. Be very careful when riding through fire effected area and wind may cause the trees to drop without notice.

Would there have been any value in carrying a chainsaw? And if so, would you have been allowed to use it in the areas where you rode?
@brentbat2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'm sure we could have used the chainsaw to clear the track. When I was in Idaho I came across an Enduro rider who was riding with a chainsaw strapped to his bike. He was part of an team organising an Enduro event in the mountains and was clearing the trail. Other than that I don't know anybody who rides with a chainsaw though :-)

For smaller stuff a Nordic pocket saw or similar is a cheap and small/light investment - best suited for collecting firewood but in a pinch you could cut bigger stuff.
