About the gas button: You will find it on all BMW hybrid and it has a safety purpose: electricity (sparks) and gas (gas vapours) don't go well together. So bevor you open your gas tank, the button makes sure that all the gas vapours are gone. Better hit a button than have a burning car :-)

Pro tip: use left hand, arm extended to brace on the door sill, then get out without needing to try to be upright. I do it in all sport cars.

Roadster is better, the seats are thicker so they're more comfy it has a bigger battery and a better gearbox it is also rarer so less likely to depreciate and its also better to drive believe me i had a coupe and have a roadster now

I went to check one out last week because I’m thinking of getting one for my birthday in November. I brought this up concern because it’s my only real problem with the i8. The 2019 model actually has dual exhausts. One exhaust is function and the other one actually has a speaker inside. So basically, it sounds like a V6 from inside and outside the cabin. Pair this with pretty decent performance (155mph. Not a Lamborghini or anything but will beat the fastest police car) and 20 miles of electricity only? Looks good, sounds good, performs good and functional?

For short drives yes, but for more than like 30 minute drives it would be uncomfortable for an average sized adult. Perfect size for kids though.

Yes, but how in the world do you reset the trip odometer on an i8??? I still can't figure mine out. Tips please! I DID however figure out how to open the passenger door from the back seat, which NO ONE at BMW seems to know. Now - how to get the door CLOSED from the back seat - is simply that you kinda have to be an acrobat, which my 9 year old son can be. Why they didn't give us doors that you can open and close with a button - I'll never know...

You missed one!.............. When opening the doors the windows drop about 5mm as if the car has frameless doors!. The car does not have frameless doors, so this is the biggest quirk by far?. They say the lord works in mysterious ways, why fit frameless window drop to non-frameless doors?
