Objectively speaking I know there's a smart way to slow him down because evidently sacking him nine times didn't work but it would be really funny if this was a short and you just said "sack him 10 times" 😂🤣

Has anyone ever done an analysis on how many of these videos actually curse the team it's made on? I remember the Panthers one earlier this season was hilariously antipredictive, but the video on Dolphins vs Ravens preceded the Dolphins going 6-1 the rest of the season and the Ravens going 2-6.

Something that was said about Jerry Rice years ago. A team mate was asked what made him so different. After some thought, he replied "Jerry ran his routes against the second guy. Figuring he already had the first beat." Seems you are saying Chase does some of that now.
@Mattyoftheboy
@Mattyoftheboy 2 жыл бұрын
Funny enough is that when Burrow and Chase were at LSU, they also ran 989 a shit load. The way Ed Orgeron ran it usually was with a chip block from the U and tailback to give Burrow enough time and then they would release to the flats. Seeing them run the same thing at the professional and it working is awesome to see.

I was actually gonna say this. I believe Brett or another YT guy (Alex something) made this observation when Burrow was coming out of college. One of the first things I read as a Bengals Fan was that Zac Taylor was adapting LSUs playbook and asking Burrow for 10 of his favorite plays. I wasn’t sure how running “Duo” (2 boundary verticals) was gonna translate to the League. Tbh, it didn’t till we got Ja’Marr. Zac seemed to have this plan of having dominant boundary WRs for Burrow to throw too. Guys who could win on jump balls (Tee Higgins, AJ Green, Auden Tate) or just 1 on 1 (Ja’Marr Chase and (slot) Tyler Boyd).

@@sidneyboakye4662 Huh, so it's no wonder why Burrow's doing so well. He's playing stuff that's familiar to him from his college days.
@sidneyboakye4662
@sidneyboakye4662 2 жыл бұрын
@@Strutsss Exactly! Honestly the only thing I was kind of worried about when Joe was coming out was how much Spread they ran at LSU. They ran spread like 90% of the time (typical in college). However they had a top O-Line while doing this (spread is a 5 man protection where everyone has to hold their blocks and be smart when it comes to stunts). Spread is also used to simplify things for QBs. I knew Joe was better at reading post-snap situations compared to Andy Dalton but I just hadn’t seen him go under center enough. Zac Taylor basically said “fuck it, we are gonna run spread too” and ran it at the highest percentage in the league; which led to the O-line being exposed more (especially on 3rd down) and Joe taking a lot more Sack in his first season. Tbh, it probably got Joe hurt but we didn’t have better options because Joe was still getting used to other formation types probably. We still use spread A LOT but we usually have a Shotgun look on 3rd and Long (Samaje Perine @ RB as a dump off; You WILL see this in the Super Bowl - when you see this come back at tell me I was right 😂) meaning Joe had grown in his ability to use other formations. This is a natural step for a year 2 QB but honestly, for someone who only played half his first season he’s ahead of schedule. Spread also works really REALLY well with Sean McVay’s 11 personnel heavy scheme (1 RB 1 TE(11), 3 WR). Zac being a disciple of the scheme uses this a lot. Zac also wanted to come in and use a lot of play action (using the run to set up the pass - Mixon helps with this). A lot of his scheme really depends on a strong technical O-Line and Run Coordinator/OLine coach Frank Pollack has helped immensely with their technique. Haha, sorry about all my rambling; I really love the Bengals. Tbh I wish I knew more about the Defenses scheme because Lou’s Hybrid 4-3/3-4 has made some KILLER halftime adjustments this season. It’s a zone heavy Cover-2ish defense but they have really done well this season.

My current pride and joy is my shanahan/haurbaugh offense using a combination of power and zone blocking and simple play action and passing concepts heavily using 22 21 even some 31 personel with designed qb runs and options as a change up. My offense on the surface looks like you typical ground and pound attack but with the extreme variety of run concepts it keeps people honest. Both your ravens and 49ers videos from previous years helped heavily. Can't wait to see what you come out with for the draft.

Titans defense did their job. Tannehill is the reason they lost. You can't turn it over three times and expect to win a game, especially the way the Titans' offense is designed to operate. The crazy part is, despite the three turnovers, the Titans still had an opportunity to win. The Bengals can almost nullify the KC pass rush if they chip Ingram and double Chris Jones. Make Clark and Reed have to win their one on ones. If Spags blitzes you, that's even better, because it gets you 1 on 1s. Bengals WRs are going to have to win their 1 on 1s to win in Arrowhead, and the Bengals offense is going to have to not make mental mistakes (false starts, holding, etc)

Hey Brett, first off all thanks for all the awesome free content you’re giving us. I always get really excited about your new videos, even though my in-depth knowledge of football isn‘t really the best. I was wondering if you could ever do a video about reading defenses and offenses in general and the basic defensive and offensive looks. I‘m always so impressed by everyone just basically being able to predict what‘s about to happen based on one look at the field. Just a suggestion from a sometimes confused fan. Keep it up, you‘re one of my favorite channels and I really value your opinions on football ✌🏻

Did you catch his recent video on defensive run fits? I feel like I my understanding of the entire game went up out about 300% in 17 minutes.

Bengals might be on to something with voodoo magic because they are really undoing a lot of bad vibes these days. From worst team in the NFL to 1 game away from the mountaintop with first SB win.

Any chance you would do a film room on Emmanuel Mosley? He has some injury issues but when he plays the Niners coverage is suddenly a hell of a lot better. Just curious as to what you think about him

Did they run the same trips to the field side fade to chase on boundary side to tie the game? Before the two point to tie?

Hey Brett, I might as well ask you the terrible question I come up with every year. Between Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, and Jackson, that's 5 guys and only 1 can go to the SB each year. At least 1 of them is guaranteed to spend the next 4 years falling short (or more if any of TEN, CLE, NE, LV, IND, PIT, MIA make it)... Who is the most likely to have a frustrating early career?

Jalen seems like just the antidote to the 989 scheme, presuming they don’t mix it up. Think this game ranges from close shootout 50/50 or rams blow them out. Weddle and Scott have been ballin at safety and think the secondary can be physical (and talented) enough to make the bengals uncomfortable

I think both defenses have to match each others' intensity and physicality to scare each others' offense to commit big time mistakes. Bengals secondary showed their fangs in the 2nd half vs Kelce and Hill and their guys and they didn't look as comfy trying to get open out there. On the other side we already know that Bengals O-line is in for a fight vs Donald and that front. But if they can get Burrow's group into more 4 and outs because of that pressure while Stafford gets to play, that will be a big difference.

@@t4d0W Definitely to all of that. It'll be a game of mistakes. If I had to choose one group to be the group to win the game for the Rams, it would be the interior line backers and Eric Weddle. My guess is Aaron, Von, and Leonard are going to be living in the backfield. As we saw last week, Burrow can run and change games with his legs. Linebackers and Weddle need to be able to both cover the top of the coverage and fill a spy kind of role to ensure that Joe doesn't make the rams pay even if they locked down the receivers. For the Bengals, it's simple. Pressure stafford, and good things will happen for you. Curious to see if they keep the same 3/4 man rushes in the Super Bowl, or attempt to blitz in spite of Stafford's effectiveness against it. I think the Rams O-line might be able to keep the front 3/4 bottled up, which could force a blitz resulting in some damage. Their edge rushers need to be successful or Stafford will eat.
