Great video guys. You should get the Kegland RAPT Bluetooth Thermometer as well as the Heat Exchanger Disk. Adjust your PID settings and you see a significant difference. I keep my pump and heating element at 100%. Adjust the flow with the valve and the PID will take care of the element. Cheers!
@BrewBrosUK11 ай бұрын
Will do! We have the disk and the thermometer will be next. Thanks for watching 🍺

Nice review. Those clamps are only really required for distillation. Didn't see you taking temperature readings at the top of the mash. I would thoroughly recommend the Bluetooth temperature probe and the heat exchanger plate addition for the bottom screen. Kegland do have a video on PID settings.

Thanks for watching! Those clamps will be coming off then in that case 🗑️ Good shout on the temp probe - we’ve seen that and like the look of it. Will probably do a video on accessories and tips at some point. Cheers!

The clamps are if you want to get the extender pipe to increase the volume buy 12L as well

Have you had any luck dialling in the PID? I ended up turning mine off
@paulallotment_fox92511 ай бұрын
Great video boys, 8 brews in now with it, I turn the PID on for the mash and off for the boil found 90% power and 103/4c boil tempreture brewing outside with the jacket on better for a good boil. as others suggested rather than pump speed pulsing which can cause sucking back into the pump just turn the flow down if the pump clogs blow down the pipe to clear it. if your using a large grain bill milled fine, add some ricehulls (say a mug full ) to the mash to prevent it sticking and leaking out the side of the malt pipe. Agreee a sight glass would be an advantage. all in all great machine for the money

Thanks for watching 🍺 Some great tips there thanks not just for us as newcomers to the BrewZilla but other watchers too. We’re two brews in now and mobilising the various accessories! Thanks again.
@louiswilliams979311 ай бұрын
Just adjust the valve to slow the recirculation rather than turning the pump down. You also might need to calibrate the temp probe.

Much appreciated 🍺 What do you find is the sweet spot for target temp and heat percentage during the boil?

Have a look at David heaths run down on the gen4. Very informative

Great video lads. Loving all the Brent referencing! Oooh cheeky! I've got the 65L version of this, 3 brews in so far. I've found the sweet spot on the boil is to set it to 80% power and 104c but this is with the 220v version. I also do think the Bluetooth thermometer is a must with this system because the temperature in the grain bed is pretty different to what shows on the probe at the bottom of the kettle. It was the same with the Gen 3.1.1 and I used a manual thermometer in there and adjusted the temperature on the system accordingly so this is a huge upgrade on the gen4. It's all a bit more finicky than I expected it to be to dial in but I'm pretty pleased with it now overall. Looking forward to seeing how your beer turned out! Cheers 🍻

Thanks for watching! All great feedback thanks and the thermometer is definitely on our radar. We actually have an efficiency/mash temp test planned between our 6-7 brew systems to see how they perform which will be interesting. Love that you noticed the regular Brentisms 😂 I think in 2 years you’re only the second or third person to comment on them! Must be kindred spirits 🍺

@@BrewBrosUK That sounds like a really interesting video! Look forward to it. Re the feedback, If you wanna give me a shout out put "Ben is refreshingly laid back for a man with so much knowledge of the Brewzilla Gen4". Anyway, I've been Ben Robinson, you've been the best! Good night!

Looks like a great bit of kit. A cross between my klarstien which has a detachable controller and my robo brew that a m8 gave me when he stopped brewing as my just in case back up. Unfortunately neither are WiFi but hopefully I’ll upgrade soon. Great vid as always cheers 👍🍻

Cheers matey 🍺 I think BrewZilla is very similar to RoboBrew…..in fact I think they’re one and the same 🧐 Anyway, yeah it’s a good bit of kit and we’ve had some great comments on using it here. Cheers!

After my first BIAB disaster, I'm in the market for a Brewzilla but I'm hesitant to buy in November before any black Friday sales. Anyone know if BZ's go on sale?

Great first look at the brewzilla gen 4 as others have suggested turn on the PID I tried using the rapt thermometer but it would never reach temp in the mash so more fine tuning needed and use the heat exchanger plate also. the only thing I found is the top plate really compacts the mash so I only use it for sparging now but only done 2 brews and my first ever all grain brews so very much still learning 👍 great consumer advice on types of screwdrivers tho 😂😂
@BrewBrosUK11 ай бұрын
A lot to take onboard for our third brew with it 💪 I think you’re right about the top plate. Bloody screwdrivers 😤

Honestly…..we don’t like it that much. We favour pumps, hoses and having complete control that way rather than wifi, electrics etc which is just added distraction. It also feels very made in China.

Good vid of a very interesting product. Great to see Gandhi taking the lead on this, proving his worth (if proof were ever needed). Shame there was no Ed swanning in at the end and taking the credit as usual, but the ever reliable Tim was there to gee things along and add as much smut (regarding such things as Gandhi’s tool being almost too big for his tiny nuts) as was necessary to keep middle-aged layabouts such as myself amused until the next Viz is out. Looking forward to how the beer (not sure what the brew is ….. I’m recon it’s some camp IPA) turns out. Hopefully Gandhi doesn’t turn out one of his usual vats of malt vinegar.

It was a black IPA actually and currently conditioning at 19 degrees 👌 Don’t worry, some ‘proper’ beer vids are coming up soon! Do they still sell Viz 🧐
@alanmorris878311 ай бұрын
@@BrewBrosUK Yeh, Viz is still about. I get in on Readly. All the faves are still there …. Jonny Fartpants, Sid the Sexist, Buster Gonad, Fat Slags, Spawney Get etc. A black IPA sounds fantastic by the way. Looking forward to the drinking debut of this brew. Are you going to do a similar brew with your all-in-one mash tun? It’s less than half the price of the Brewzilla and it would be interesting to see how they compare.

@@alanmorris8783 yeah we will (we try not to promote our own brand stuff too much so we’ll probably go bust eventually….but what a ride!). Ed gave me (Tim) the Profanisaurus one Christmas which was a thrilling read 😂 Actually, that gives me an idea for a next video! You should come down you know and get to know Gandy’s crack personally. Our next home brewer meet up is 17th May - treat yourself to a West Country break 😎
