Interesting detail about Brad Richards. Rangers offer $24 million over 3 years more. I guess Rangers flexed their financial muscle and knowing a amnesty buyout was rumored took the risk. I wanted them to offer sheet Stamkos

Tim Connolly is an example of a guy who did a 180 turn around, at first he gave zero effort, no backchecking, he worked hard in summer and came back and was all of a sudden fearless and was great two way player. Rare but can happen

Nobody had more injuries, to KEY players, than Colorado. Except maybe Pittsburgh. When the season stopped, we had more talent injured, than most teams have on their roster-no exaggeration. We were in trouble. Probably would've had to play our worst matchup (Dallas), with a freakin MASH unit,& half the roster minor leaguers. Not now, everybody should be back, except maybe Wilson. But I just hope they can get this in safe,& successful. No matter who wins, or how far my Avs go.

Second that! I think Burke should get his own time slot in the 1st intermission on HNIC to replace the former Coach's Corner slot...don't know who might be a great co-host. Perhaps Louie Debrusk - those two would be great.

First of all I like Brian Burke. He has a lot of experience and he tells it like he sees it. However, I disagree on 2 points with his evaluation of the interference call on Kyle Okposo. Number one, of course Dermott is watching where is pass is going. Not "who does that?" It's, "who doesn't do that?" Everyone watches where their passes go if they have an opportunity. That was an ignorant comment. Dermott was not supposed to be in any danger so why wouldn't he. Number two, did he watch the hit by the Flyers Joel Farabee a couple of games ago when he was suspended for 3 games? Farabee was cross checked in front of the goal (no call) and he was obviously PO'd as a result so he retaliated, He didn't leave his feet and he didn't knock the player into the boards like Okposo did. It was clearly interference and obviously very wrong, no excuses but it was no more violent or egregious than Okposo's hit, yet one player was suspended and the other one wasn't even given a 5 minute major. The trouble with the NHL is the complete lack of consistency by those who enforce the rules both on the ice and off. How are fans supposed to react in the midst of this inconsistency? Brian you don't get to complain or chide fans because your standard obviously varies also. Okposo was not just "finishing his check." There was intent to hurt/punish an unsuspecting player in a vulnerable position in both cases. Either the incidents are both suspensions or neither is. Again, how are fans supposed to react?

There's a lunatic fringe in every fanbase. The size of that fringe depends on the size of the fanbase. Hockey fans are hockey fans and there's always going to be a portion of loudmouths that freak out over every little thing. Twitter and social media is not representative of an entire fanbase. Only hard core hockey fans watch that and comment like we do and a few are going to be assholes and a few will be panic stricken, sky is falling type of people.

You heard it here first folks!! Listen up! 3 on 3 overtime is getting stupid! Players are wasting 3 of the 5 overtime minutes skating around with the puck... The game when 3 on 3 has turned stale... Here's my solution... I hate seeing the team with the puck enter the opposition's zone,then skate out of the zone to reset... It burns minutes off the overtime! If a team leaves the offensive zone with the puck after entering... They automatically lose possession! Simple rule! Or call a 4 on 3 penalty... I would try loss of possession first!

"Why is he watching his pass?" Because he's following the play, for gawdsake. No one should have to brace themselves for a hit from behind one second after passing the puck. I'm all for hitting in hockey. I played the game and understand that part of it means you have to keep the play moving by keeping your head up, otherwise you'll get crunched. Fair enough. But the Buffalo player had no intention of keeping the play moving. His sole intention was crushing a guy into the boards long after he passed the puck. I wonder if "Burkie" is auditioning for Cherry's job.
@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants
@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants Жыл бұрын
It was a cheap hit but he did not have reason to watch the play since it made no difference if it was a good pass or not from his own POV. If It was a good pass it would not matter and if it was not he was too far away. The Buf player wanted to hit him for the sake of it.
