Brian Manion Dennehy (Bridgeport, July 9, 1938 - New Haven, April 15, 2020) was an American actor and director active in film, theater and television. Winner of a Golden Globe and two Tony Awards and candidate for six Primetime Emmy Awards, he gained initial notoriety for the role of Sheriff Will Teasle in Rambo (1982). He has starred in numerous films including Gorky Park (1983), Silverado (1985), Cocoon - The Energy of the Universe (1985), F / X - Deadly Effect (1986), Presumed Innocent (1990), Tommy Boy (1995 ), William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet (1996) and Knight of Cups (2015). Dennehy won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a mini-series or television movie for the role of Willy Loman in the television movie Death of a Salesman (2000), based on the eponymous drama written by Arthur Miller.
