There are great players today, but great characters are few and far between. The PC world we live in has got rid of the characters in sport and we are poorer for it.

Ma point, any striker should be netting 25 goals (league) minimum whether its for Rangers or Celtic. For some reason, I always thought it was easier for Gazza to play on a team with a guy like Brian. He was used to having a lot of pressure on him, both on club- and international basis, to drive the ball forward/create changes. In Brian, you had a teammate who was as good, if not even better at it than him, which took a lot of pressure of his shoulders, and probably also created more space for him . Never heard him comment on it though

Tactics were wrong unfortunately. Too attacking in Europe back then against top teams. It was the only way we knew how to play. We had the players for it right enough but had to be a bit more savvy in Europe. Great videos btw
